Pretty interesting store, not one we have in Canada. It's a surplus store, so there's just sort of a wide variety of stuff that you can choose from; from books to groceries, clothes and outdoor supplies. They have a lot of inventory to look at.
My one knock would be the overall feeling of disorganization. It reminded me sort of a big flea market or yard sale. This may not be a turn off for everyone, mind - it was just sort of hard for me to find and focus on stuff to look at because I almost felt overwhelmed at having to look at the disarray. They obviously know it's like this as they had something to the effect of, "if you think it's messy now, you should have seen it before we cleaned up!" painted on the wall (which gave me a chuckle).

The store is in a strip mall type building on a back street and building inside needs to be cleaned and updated. This is obviously not Ollie's responsibility. I am sure they are paying a hefty chuck in rent. But the building owner needs to step up. The entire building is showing its age l the way from one end to the other. Every store in it is showing its age.
Perhaps a move to a larger and fresher location would improve the overall feel and allow better selection...

I bought a $165, Bissel vacuum cleaner for $44 at Ollie's, and it's been going strong for 6 months, a $60 electric kettle for $20, great towels, dog beds...lots of great finds (oh, and kids books, look for those there, fantastic deals). Let's see...Why did I take one star off? Well, you CAN run into a dud. I bought an oil filled type electric heater, lasted 3 months before dying. I think those are about $80+, got it for $40. I now am more picky...
