I took my 7 and 3 year old to eat here while traveling. It was a weekday about 9 am. There were only about 2-3 other tables seated when we got there. The staff was not attentive at all. Had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated just because nobody was watching the front even though this place is wide open. After being seated the waiter seemed more annoyed than anything that we were there. Took forever to get 2 juices and a coffee. We ordered food at the same time as the drinks and waited a half hour easily though by this time there were probably 5 tables seated and 3 people waiting on tables.l, and we were seated not far from the kitchen so I could hear people back there the entire time. My kids pancakes were burnt to the point that I gave him mine, and the scrambled eggs that came with all 3 of our meals was terrible, and I'm not very picky about my eggs. Needless to say nobody touched them. I would have said something about the pancakes but it totally wasn't worth the bother to wait another half hour for 5 more silver dollar pancakes. When we were ready to go the waiter could tell because we were all standing and my kids were ready to run out the door, which is why I almost missed what happened. My waiter handed me my receipt to sign and walked away. As I was standing and quickly adding a tip I realized that our meal cost WAY TOO much for what we ordered and I was not given an itemized receipt which is also strange. I tried to flag him down and he just told me to leave the receipt at the counter. So I walk over the host station and grabbed a menu to look at what we ordered and he came over. I told him the amount was way too much for what we ordered and he said ok, hold on, hit some buttons and magically he printed a new receipt for $40 instead of the $68 one when originally gave me. He didn't say a word about it so I asked why I got a receipt for so much. His response was that someone printed the wrong one. He is the one that printed it because I saw him print it at the station, and his name is on both, and like I said he only had like 2 other tables. This is the first time my kids have ever been to an IHOP, and probably the last. We should have just hit the Dunkin drive...
Read moreToday we visited this IHop. We were a group of 8 (4 children, 4 adults). This alone can be nerve-wracking for a server because of the chaos. Now, add on top of that the fact that we are all vegetarians (and half of us do not even eat egg). We are all from Toronto, Canada and as many of you know, Toronto is the hub of diversity, especially when it comes to food options & choices. The few days we have been in Watertown, we have experienced some terrible restaurant experiences as many of the servers did not know how to accommodate our dietary restrictions or mocked the fact that we are vegetarians (I know - so wrong but it's true!). Based on experiences here, we never expected the service we received at IHOP. We were preparing ourselves for the worse. Victoria was our server at IHOP. SHE WAS AMAZING! She started off our experience explaining to us that she will gladly accommodate whatever we need & will find a way to make it work. She was extremely calm through out ordering (and remember, we are a table of 8 - 4 crazy kids included). She made us feel welcome, happy, and respected. She worked with all our needs, created meal plans for us, was extremely knowledgeable, and even threw in a free mini pancake for my 2 year old. Her kindness and calmness was amazing. She showed no stress, despite the fact that we changed our orders a few times...and kept a smile of her face the whole time. Look, IHOP is like any breakfast place we have been too - it's good & the same across the board! What set it apart for us was her. It's so true when they say, the service is what sells. She set the standard high for us & we left the city of Watertown with a good experience. We 100% recommend this location for this very reason - Victoria.
Thank you so much for making our families feel welcome, Victoria. We hope that you get promoted and are acknowledged for your genuine and kind personality. Nowadays, it is not easy to deal with people in general...but we could tell that enjoy working with others & making them feel comfortable! Wishing you...
Read moreThis place has made a large impact on our town and community. They serve with kindness and understanding. I have had a long week, and even a longer month of stress. I got off of work very late tonight after a really bad week, I was craving some IHOP. It was an hour till closing. I would never come so close to closing and do something like that to a place of business that I wouldn’t want done to me or my business because people have families to go home to and lives to continue to have outside of work. But we were hungry and really wanted something to eat. Joy welcomed us with the sweetest smile and warm welcome. I tried to apologize for making them have to serve us so late knowing it would keep them passed their time that they were open. Boy, I wasn’t alone! I brought six more people with me bc I brought my family, who haven’t ate as well since lunch. Mark was more than happy to fulfill our needs and welcome us as well with a kind heart. It got better bc the food itself was made to perfection and filled us up! From the drinks to the entrees, down to the desert everything was prepped, prepared, and serve with elegance, care and was hot and fresh. Mark even came out to check on us to make sure our meal tasted great and to greet us to assure us that we were very welcomed and are welcomed anytime. That made everyone at the table feel special and not just a ticket order. No other restaurant would of treated us like that. Most restaurants hate it when people do that and come so late, and most will turn you away. But they didn’t. That made me feel good and cared about! because my hours vary a lot, I don’t always know when I will finish work and to know that IHOP has my back means more to me than anything and they will still treat me with love, respect, and the best hospitality. I will always be a regular there! They are definitely worth it to go and try to eat at with friends, family, or co-workers and...
