I visited Thousand Island Diamond Center after calling in first to inquire about having an engagement ring appraised that I bought online. I just moved to the area and didn’t know who to go to. I saw all of the great reviews for this business so decided to go to them for the appraisal. When I arrived I was greeted by Scott (the owner?) and told to have a seat. I showed him my ring which is a 2.5ct untreated peach sapphire on a 14k rose gold diamond band (tdw 0.5ct). He “tested” my ring and looked at it under the microscope. He told me that the diamonds were cubic zirconia and it was a cheap overseas production that I should have paid no more than $500-$1500 for. He asked what I paid for it and I told him $4,000. He basically laughed at me and told me to get my money back immediately, and that he could make me the exact same ring for less. Already feeling very overwhelmed and confused with this information, and about ready to cry, he decided to kick me while I was down and asked me why I would make such a purchase online. (Basically made me feel stupid for buying the ring online instead of going into a brick and mortar to buy a ring in person.) So, afterwards he showed me a few of his “finer” pieces of jewelry (even compared my “low quality ring” to a “high quality ring” to show me the difference). I thanked him for his time and left. I then immediately took the ring to Kay’s, Zales, and Cooks Manufacturing Jewelers in downtown Watertown for a second, a third, and a fourth opinion. Turns out, all 3 of the other places found that my ring is exactly what it is supposed to be. My “cubic zirconias” tested as diamonds at all 3 places. Interesting... 🤔 My ring was valued at $4-5k at all 3 places by multiple people at each place including managers and owners. I will also be going to an independent GIA certified gemologist for a final opinion, just to make sure that the information given to me at Thousand Island Diamond Center was 100% false. As a “professional” and as a “jewelry expert”, I can’t honestly believe that this was just a misunderstanding and that he mistook diamonds for cubic zirconia. I’m just really surprised being that this business has so many great reviews. I assumed that they would be trustworthy and give me an honest opinion to make sure my ring was authentic. He could have just told me over the phone that they don’t do appraisals if he didn’t want to waste his time on someone who bought a ring somewhere else. Instead, he had me come in and then proceeded to lie to me and make feel stupid for purchasing an engagement ring online. Well Scott, the business that I bought my ring from has been around a long time and has many great reviews, just like yours. I would highly recommend purchasing from here! Everyone in the store is very helpful and super friendly. Doug helped my husband and I create my engagement ring FROM SCRATCH and it turned out better than I ever could have imagined. I went in looking for a specific ring I tried on years ago while in college (Stella by Devotion... she's beautiful and I would definitely recommend checking her out). I was unsure if I was still into that design, or not. Doug had the ring shipped in from another store, so I could compare it to others in order to get a feel for what I wanted. I tried on ever ring I could, some numerous times. I tried on different cuts and different sized diamonds... Back and forth... this, then that. Doug was so patient and so knowledgeable that I don't think I would have trusted anyone else to create my ring. I found that I had grown out of my Stella phase and my husband and I really liked the marquise diamond. We brought a picture in from the internet and after MANY weeks of drawing and reviewing, we finally said "ok". We were super impressed with how quickly everything was done. It seemed we were always getting the phone call ahead of schedule to move on to the next step of the process. Next thing you know, the ring was completed and I am still, to this day, absolutely blown away at how beautiful it is. I will never regret going through this experience with the Perriwinkles team. It started out as a weekly visit during the "shopping" processes and now it's turned into a weekly visit simply to say hi and get my ring cleaned. Lol Doug definitely was as superstar and the rest of the staff we amazing, as well. They deserve many more than five stars.

Great overall experience. From the moment you enter the establishment you're greeted with kindness. All employees seem to possess an infectious and extremely polite attitude. Especially, Lorraine, the store manager. She absolutely leads by example and made me feel welcomed during my visit. Lorraine was intimately involved in all aspects of service provided to me as well as others in the store. The wonderful customer service affords a homey feel and customers know that they are well cared for. I will absolutely return to this business for all of my family's jewelry needs and positively recommend this particular fine jewelry store to any and all. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I specifically went there looking to repair a family heirloom, but wasn't sure who I can trust, in the area, with my grandmother's prized jewelry. I took a chance by going to Perrywinkles in Watertown and boy am I glad I did so. Not only were the repairs done quickly, only in a manner of a few days, but the quality of work was superb. In fact, the manager even upgraded an attachment, for my grandmothers pendant, at no extra charge because she noticed the quality of the necklace required a little higher quality of bail in order to remain consistent with its beauty.

I never mentioned that my items were past down by my wonderful grandmother who past many years ago. Yet Lorraine ensured the pieces were handled and cared for as if the items were the most precious things in the world. Which to me they are absolutely just that. Perrywinkles has definitely earned my vote of confidence and I now consider them precious jewels that everyone should have the pleasure to meet one day.
