I went shopping for fruit on Friday afternoon and as far as the produce it is terrifying to see it in the condition it's in. I first encountered the kiwi and most of them were split in the plastic containers they were being held in. I walked around to the necturines which turned out to be harder than a baseball no exaggerating on that. So I walk over to the bananas which were all sitting in a wet box just already starting brown due to them not taking them out the box so I hunted and even oped up a new box I get home start chopping up the bananas and more than half of the large batch I bought was beyond rotten on the inside. From the outside the bananas were still partially green but I peeled them back they were brown slimy and mush. I was and still am so disgusted. I don't know about anything else however they have got to do better about handling and setting up produce. I'm never shopping at this place again. I was just reading a woman found a sewing needle in a bag of apples. It's really sad being this...
Read moreIt's just alright as Aldi's go. And I like Aldi. Particularly for two necessities: Coffee and toilet paper. Their cheap coffee is passable to good, unlike the cheap coffee elsewhere, which is alright to meh. But their shotpaper is CHOICE. I admit it: I specifically go to Aldi so the Chili-Dogs and I can wipe. Trust me: Price AND quality, Aldi paper wins. As for these poor souls talking about buying fresh produce from there as a point... I don't know. Not my instinct. My instinct is to get produce from those stores I know tend to source locally and regionally. As for affordability, on some things, maybe. Others, not so much. And then they catch you to buy that Amuse Bouche you just had to have. But, Hey!: Probably same crowd that raves about buyin' all pre-packaged and branded food from that Trader Joe fella. Still, you'll see me travel to this one for scratch paper. Seemed a bit busy. Plenty of parking, if sketch. Carts not readily noticeable to this old...
Read moreIt's an Aldi nonetheless. Same great products, but somewhat higher prices. It's the black sheep of Aldi's in that it covers more brand names than some of the great foods that the company is known for. It's customer base are indifferent to brand names and prices, and that's the core of their market. The new location is big, roomy, and presentable. It's definitely an off shoot to it's 3 decade-old layout from other stores. But for those familiar with other locations, they lack the selection and unique foods that are particularly European. Maybe once they settle in a bit longer, it will improve. But loyal customers will not drive an hour away to another location in the meantime. The other detail that I'm not thrilled about is that they only seem to stock the highest-priced, premium items, as opposed to a...
