King Mao — Restaurant in Clarksville

I would of given this place a 5 star rating, but I really dislike when I am clear and specific on my food preferences and the order is still wrong. I ordered a sesame chicken dinner with a small side of rice on 2/7/25 around 4/5pm. I told the gentleman on the phone I wanted the same rice that came with the meal. He told me it was vegetable fried rice. I said ok and told him I don't want the rice with the broccoli in it just the SAME rice that came with the meal. He said yea that's the vegetable rice.i said ok, placed my order then picked it up.

I don't normally have an issue with this establishment. I didn't check my side of rice since I asked for the same kind that came with my meal. Well I should of checked, because now I'm at work sitting down to eat my side of rice with some leftover chicken and BOOM there are freaking mushrooms and broccoli in my rice...... the same stuff I specifically said I did not want. Smh and there was no language barrier between me and the person who took my order, so there is no excuse.

Now I have to give my food away because I can not eat these...

Out of the 3 closest Chinese restaurants, this one has the highest rating, which is what encouraged me to try King Mao. I could not be more disappointed.

The Pros: Taking my order via phone was easy. The delivery driver was professional and friendly.

The Cons: But the food? Wow. If you can even call it food. Anyone who gives this place a good rating clearly doesn't understand what good Chinese food tastes like. I wish I had my monyback as I couldn't eat a single thing. I ordered chicken lo mein that tasted like it had soaked in soy sauce for days. Chicken fried rice did NOT taste like chicken (yellow rice, too?). The spring rolls and the crab rangoon tasted like it has been frozen. The shells were very tough and chewy.

TLDR; Good service. Terrible food. Tough chewy thawed-from-frozen food. I will NOT be ordering from this...

I've been getting food from this place for a while and I got home with a recent order to find a big bug in the fried rice. Took all the food back because I felt nauseous about eating anything else or letting my family eat. Tried to get a full refund but the cooks came out and started being rude saying that in all their years never had an issue. Well I just wanted a refund to go and get dinner for my family elsewhere but they were so rude and even threw the money back at me. They were making it a bigger deal than it had to be and there were several other customers in the dining room listening.
