After over 15 years of non use, I brought a rather expensive and unique Panasonic VHS/DVD recorder to Wayne to see it if was worth fixing. After sitting for so long, it no longer worked. A new one if you could find one of that vintage was over $750.00! So...Wayne got to work on it, called me with the issues he found (they were extensive...most of the capacitors had popped and needed extensive replacement via a special order due to their age). In less than two weeks, Wayne called to say it was done and seemed to be working as new. Total charge (happily paid) was LESS than 1/4th the cost of new. I got it home, plugged it into my home entertainment system via its HDMI cable and checked it out. VHS tapes played perfectly. DVD side played perfectly. But the real test was its ability to record from VHS to DVD and DVD to VHS. Popped in an old VHS tape, put in a new DVD-RW and then followed the instructions that appeared on-screen. So far so good. Its built in DVD format process (required for recording and then "Finalizing" to allow it to play on all DVD players) formatted the DVD perfectly in about a minute or so, then another on-screen dialogue box popped up and told me to hit the RECORD button to start the transfer process and then the magic happened. That was all it took. The transfer of the 90 minute movie from VHS to DVD went perfectly! Just yesterday a neighbor brought over a dozen VHS tapes from their past and I transferred them as well. All went perfectly. And they were thrilled to see all their old friends again from those old VHS tapes they could no longer play. To say I am beyond satisfied with Wayne's work is to say the least. And...he is a nice guy to chat with, too. Does not get any better than this. Trust me, Wayne's work is far more important than even HE may realize. Being a professional musician, the word is...
Read moresimply wow! the circuit board of our hayward salt generator went bad. i asked my very handy engineer husband to have a look. despite the fact he fixed our washer, garage door, faucet, etc, he told me he could not work on a circuit board. i thought i had no option but to buy a whole new part which would cost me easily $300. but i decided to do a google search for electronic repair, i found wayne's shop! he first thought he could not work on a 10-year old acrylic board. but then he said to me straight "i can do this!" i was so happy! so the part arrived today and the whole thing got fixed pronto. we put it back in the box, now the salt generator works like new! wayne handled the whole process professionally. called me when he said he would. and everything was done when he said would, and for a very reasonable price! i am so grateful and only wish our society would put more value and appreciation in people like wayne and the skills he possesses! people like him are hard to come by nowadays. i am just happy he is in our...
