My wife took her Volvo to The Swedish Solution a couple of times for routine maintenance stuff. She insisted on it because she wanted the "Volvo experts" to take care of her beloved car. She also really liked the loaner cars. They did OK work but charged a lot for it. My wife is not easy to please and she got less and less happy with the work. The last straw came when she dropped it off to have the brakes looked at and to have the steering rack replaced since the car was hemorrhaging steering fluid. They quoted outrageous prices to her for both, so I followed up.

After talking to the mechanic I was told that 1. They will not change brakes alone - they will only change brakes AND rotors, which is one of the dumbest things I ever heard and had to be an attempt to take advantage of my wife. 2. After some pointed questioning he admitted that he had not even looked at the brakes, much less the rotors. My wife didn't drop off the car to have the brakes changed necessarily, she told them to LOOK at them and determine if they were bad. Instead he wrote up an estimate immediately for 500 dollars which is way too expensive if you ask me, especially since this was ONLY for the front brakes/rotors!

I couldn't get him to even begin justifying 1,200 dollars for a new steering rack. He really sounded sheepish about these estimates while I was asking him about them.

So I checked the brakes/rotors myself. They were perfectly fine, worn less than halfway through. I took the car to my mechanic for the steering rack - fixed for $280 and the car has been great ever since. Won't be taking it back to...

I got a rim swap out on my Audi TT 2002 alms edition, after further inspection my brand new 18” alzor rims were cut up along the actual outer rim. All the tires were mildly sliced up along the sealing points where rim meets tire. Rear driver side tire has a big air bubble bump where it looks like a future blow out will happen soon. I really hope they somehow make this rough job right because I really enjoyed talking to the guys that were knowledgeable and very friendly and easy to talk to while I waited. I normally do my own work on this rare car for reasons like this... all in all really, nice guys that I wish would have taken the care and to slow down, not to ruin brand new rims I saved up for and my tires with a lot of life left in them. Was expecting more from passionate foreign car guys! *They are making it right 100% instantly contacted me about whatever they need to do to make this situation right! Swedish Solutions Shop made it right. They took full responsibility for the job and made it 110% right, professionally did the rim and I cannot tell at all with UV treated finish, new tires to match all around, included a complimentary wheel alignment and a hand car wash for their mistake. I dropped my car off there in March to have a few things fixed and a few parts installed. They told me they were pretty busy, I said no rush. Well, a month later they hadn't even looked at the car yet, so I started asking if they could please work on it. Another month went by and they finally at least told me what was wrong, and quoted me $6300 to repair. To be fair, BMWs are expensive to fix. But you'd think for that much money, they'd, you know, fix it. Apparently their BMW guy just left one day, so my car sat there. The owner kept apologizing and telling me he expected them to get it to it next week, and he'd call with an update. They neither started working on it, nor called me with updates. That went on for probably another month.

We're at about 4 months now and I still don't have my car. I just got off the phone with them and they're hoping for next week. I imagine it'll be another 2-3 weeks, maybe longer. Seriously, after taking this long they should have just given me my car back so I could take it somewhere else. I've been paying insurance on it and I can't drive it. And mind you, I'm a single father without any transportation due to them. To be fair, the owner said he'd try to get me a loaner car if I really needed one.

Update: Trying to be fair. I'm still very displeased with everything, but they just called me and said they found my clutch line was rusted, so they're repairing it free of charge. I'm bumping it up from 1 star to 2. I'm still very...
