If I could rate zero stars, I would. My girlfriend and I had our second child here in December, it was a nightmare from the beginning. Our son was premature, so he went straight to the NICU. The nurses told my girlfriend and I we had to call the NICU and schedule time to go see our son, which turned out wasn't true at all. The room my girlfriend was in had no heat and they let her stay like that for two days, when they finally decided to move her she was already sick from being in that room. They released her a few days later and within 72 hours she almost had a stroke because the hospital missed her preeclampsia. Which she had with our first child and was in her medical history. So not only is my son at this point in the NICU my girlfriend is hospitalized elsewhere because of their mistake. The nightmare doesn't end here though, for the next month we had to deal with the incompetence of the nurses in the NICU and on Rainbow 4. We'd We'd for an update on our son and would be told someone would call us back and we would never get that call. It would take hours of calling to even be able to speak to someone. We live over an hour away so we couldn't be there every single day. When we were there 9/10 times we didn't see a nurse at all during our visit. I'd walk in the room and my son would have dried formula all over his face, soaking wet diaper through his clothes and screaming his head off. We'd hit the nurse button and no one would come for atleast 25 minutes. All the nurses would be sitting at the desk ignoring what was going on. The nurses supposedly chart when a parent calls or visits their child, which was not being done properly. The hospital called my girlfriend and one of the nurses in rainbow 4 made her cry telling her it's a problem she never calls or visits and that she's not a good parent. When we called everyday and went atleast 3 times a week to visit, but they weren't properly charting anything. When it came closer to my son's discharge we had completed everything we were "required" to do. We were forced to do classes that weren't actually a requirement to take our son home. We were given false information over the phone numerous times, we were told his wrong weight, wrong times he had been fed, wrong amounts, and the wrong discharge time. They told my girlfriend they had to spend the night (24 hours) with our son the day before discharge so she packed up what she needed and we drive the hour down there. I dropped her off and within an hour the doctor came in and told her that he's going home today. So I had to turn around and go back. They also told us that they'd do the car seat challenge in front of us, which didn't happen. I'm not even sure it was actually done. We finally get him home and discover a mark on his back that we were never informed of, even our pediatrician said this should have been charted and he double checked and it was nowhere to be found in the system. And now here we are with prescriptions for physical therapy for his head because it's shaped oddly and we can't even use it because they put the wrong last name on them. My son desperately needs to attend that appointment and several others and now can't go because the hospital is refusing to fix the prescriptions with his proper last name. The discharge nurse on Rainbow 4, Kyla, is the rudest person I have ever spoke to. She tells me to call my pediatrician and let them deal with his prescriptions even though he didn't write them. She told me she can't help me and refused to let me speak to the nurse practitioner. I'm surprised my son and girlfriend made it out of this...
Read moreI personally had an issue with being dropped off to find my doctor wasn't there that day even though I was told to go there.. other than that this place is absolutely gorgeous and a fun and interesting maze that was an absolute joy to look at. In one area it's all antique beautiful wood work, then the food court area is setup like roads and streets that branch off into other areas. The area I ended up in looked like it belonged in a space ship. So it was like an amazing adventure through history. So
With that said I can't let one doctor determine an establishment.. albeit I never went to an appointment supplied by united to have the driver leave which is normal, for the office to tell me "oh just drive to the other side of Cleveland? Super unprofessional. But again things are always a hit or miss sometimes... So don't let my review deter you. I have had many outstanding physicians I've seen through UH and highly recommend them. My recommendation is to call a day or two ahead of time to make sure you are arriving in the right location. Just in case.
Especially if you get dropped off and cannot just drive to the other side of town. My daughter shares many of my medical issues. I just keep thinking, what if this was my daughter in my shoes? Ive been needing to see genetics for sometime and it might make or break a surgery possibly. I just hope I can finally get seen. I've had ride shares no call no show in the past. So chances of missing it again are high sadly.
(I only need rides because I can't afford to fix our vehicle) I even got injured on a ride share (Lyft) once when the kid hit a pothole. I would love to get better so I can get back to work and get it fixed so I can drive myself. Uber and Lyft medical drivers like for modi vcare etc. Don't drive well typically and I don't even want to use them anymore because of what I said above, speeding, swerving, dirty cars etc. I also have a compromised immune system, so I should really be in my own germs. Most doctors spray themselves down after work before getting in a car... It would be nice if there was more incentive to fix...
Read moreThe WORST inpatient Ped Psych experience. NEVER GO HERE. IF YOU WANT YOUR SUICIDAL CHILD TO LIVE, DO NOT GO HERE! Go to Cleveland Clinic Fairview if you are in Cleveland. Cleveland Clinic Fairview (worked with them three time for IP Psych) are on their game, great teams, more frequent check-ins on your child, better group sessions (says my child), better food (rainbow food is cold and dry), Fairview have competent, emotionally intelligent staff who understand the stress and worry of a concerned parent -- who actually listen and will extend the care of your child. I COULD NOT BE MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH RAINBOW IP PSYCH. I needed to request the ombudsman evaluate their decision to release our child when he was by all measure in a worse place and not given reasonable time for med changes to take effect and was told, "I can give you the number" and "I can look into it.", but never given a yes. When they gave questionable advice, were challenged (based of 3x times previous IP Psych experience at CCF Fairview), and then told them I was recording the conversation to preserve history, they refused to talk. Why would a medical professional, giving their professional opinion, as an expert who claims they know better than a worried parent, when the advice is questionable (to a worried parent) not willingly invite active review by the ombudsman to protect themselves? Why would they be afraid to have their exert advice to be recorded? Rainbow is an absolute NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED jewel for nearly all things pediatric medical. I would still take my kids there for ANYTHING OTHER THAN IP PSYCH because they are elite among the elite. But I implore all parents, if your kid requires IP Psych, NEVER GO HERE. Go to CCF Fairview or Akron Children's. The leadership over this group will fail you...
