Updated review: Let's clear the air (for real): The ownerâs patronizing tone and the blame they place on customers is a real bad look. They clearly have nothing better to do than reply ignorantly and immediately gaslighting a customer over a negative review. đŹđ Also straight up lying to sound more dramatic. Nothing was demanded except a little respect for spending hundreds of dollars in your store.
The discount code mentioned wasn't the main issueâjust an additional point for anyone who doesn't like getting screwed. Multiple issues in two days is also a bad look. Maybe Overrated needs to learn that good customer service is about more than just publicly shaming your customers because you think youâre right.
Since you're so keen on quoting people, yes, I said, "Okay gotcha! Thank you for getting back to me :)" because I'm polite, not dumb. But okay... go off. I even proceeded to spend another $200 after that unsatisfactory interaction because, silly me, I believe everyone deserves second chances.
"Niche" businesses that "stand behind their policies" should also stand behind the quality of their customer interactions. Apparently, some businesses prioritize Google reviews over actual customer satisfaction.
To anyone else reading: If you value being treated with respect over being lectured by a condescending business owner, this isn't the "love, transparency, and real connection" you're looking for. đâď¸To the staff of Overrated: RUN.
Original review: Donât know what I was thinking when I stepped into a store called âOverratedâ and thought Iâd get anything else. This store is 100% overrated. The items are cute and they have a good selection, however you could find them at any other similar store.
The owner is very rude and youâd be wasting your money to support their business. I had an issue in-store and the person in line after me had the same issue-neither of us walked out happy.
Discounts are not honored and the owner tried to gaslight me, practically calling me incompetent. Misleading information online and in person. Also tried to make me look like I was begging for freebies when I just wanted what I paid for.
I drove 1.5 hours to this place (over paying for every item) so I could support a small business. I was super excited about the store until I had to deal with the owner. The staff is very sweet, but grossly undertrained. They didnât even know how to do a return đ The poor cashier was doing their best, but completely unprepared for more than one customer.
