Smart & Final Extra! — Local services in Clovis

Tonight picking up a few groceries at closing time, the customer in front of me at the cashier had a big bloody pork roast that dripped a lot of blood on the conveyor belt. He asked the cashier for paper towels to clean the blood. I offered him two plastic bags for the meat, and also offered some hand sanitizer. I didn't want to place my groceries on the blood, still there, and asked if she had any cleaning wipes. She said she had a spray but instead of using it, just advanced the belt saying she will spray when everyone is gone. Gross. The blood was there and I'm supposed to place eggs, bread, stick butter, cereal boxes, Ritz crackers on top of the blood? It looked like 1/2 cup of tomato juice spilled but the cashier, Arianna was OK pushing the button to advance the belt and just letting it dry for the next customer. I didn't want to place milk or coffee on it but at least those items are plastic unlike cereal boxes, which really need a dry spot not a bloody gross mess. I called the manager Juanita to ask her opinion, is this unreasonable of me, or...

I bought a pack of chicken from this Smart & Final, the following day when was about to cook it it had a rotten stench. I coudln't find my receipt, but decided to take it to the Smart & Final manager since it did have their store brand on it. Before the manager even approached me he looked like he didn't want to talk. I told him that chicken I bought there was rotten. He just looked at me and said, "Yep, it smells rotten. Sure you got it here." I told him, " Yeah, I got it here, it has your brand." He didin't want to exchange or do anything.

For $5 worth of rotten chicken their franchise lost several customers for life. Good move.

I recently put in an order for salmon and a young lady by the name of Katie made sure that my order was made and that I was notified as soon as the shipment was delivered.

These guys go above and beyond to make your experience great, very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. May I add, their music selection in the store will have you singing and dancing while you're shopping.

This is my absolute go-to store when I am buying in bulk. I would say that this store has the best produce selection compared to other stores such as Walmart.
