It has been nearly two years, and this business has still not addressed the damage they caused to my door panel. I brought them a brand-new Honda with only 100 miles on it for window tinting—straight from the showroom and in perfect condition. At pickup, the installation initially looked fine.
A day later, I noticed a damaged spot on my driver’s door panel that looked melted, as if it had been touched with a heat gun. When I returned to the shop, they claimed to have reviewed camera footage and denied responsibility. I then took the car to my Honda dealership, where it was confirmed that the panel had been cut and poorly repaired. One of their own vendors even attempted to improve the appearance, but the damage is still highly visible every time I get in and out of the car. The repair technician explained that the panel looked like it had been cut with a razor during trimming and then unsuccessfully melted and textured to hide the mistake.
I spoke with James several times, and he initially agreed to file an insurance claim for a replacement panel. After that, communication stopped completely. Despite numerous phone calls, text messages, and visits to the shop, I was ignored. Months of follow-ups led nowhere. I even obtained a quote from Honda for a new door panel—ironically costing slightly more than the tint job itself.
The level of disregard for my vehicle and my time is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the rear window tint is now bubbling and failing in under two years. Since this incident, I’ve purchased five more vehicles, all of which I had tinted elsewhere. Needless to say, I will never return here.
Buyer beware: inspect your vehicle thoroughly if you choose to do business with them. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating, disappointing, and disrespectful.
EDIT per your reply: This is not accurate. I had to hire an independent interior repair company at my own expense to evaluate the damage and correct the poor repair attempt. Please do not suggest otherwise, you did nothing to assist in any of this process. It became clear that the damage clearly occurred while the vehicle was in your care.
The repair company I used also confirmed they have corrected similar interior damages in the past for your business, and knew you by name. They immediately recognized what had happened, and explained it to me that it was not a heat gun, rather a repair from a razor cut into the soft upper portion of the door panel. A simple enough mistake, which should have been handled differently. In the end it's a $600 door panel and i've replaced it myself. Say what you will about how much you care, and I appreciate running a business isn't easy, but i'm not looking for a handout here or to give you poor reviews. I want you to succeed, but this was just a terrible customer experience that I want to give my honest experience and feedback on what actually happened.
Despite this, your team denied responsibility, even though the vehicle had only been in your garage and mine—and I certainly do not install window tint at home. Your team did cause this damage, and James acknowledged as much.
In our last conversation, he stated he was filing a claim to cover the replacement of the door panel and asked me to obtain pricing, which I did. However, after that, I received no further communication despite multiple phone calls, text messages, and in-person visits to your shop.
This is no longer just about the cost. I have already invested both time and money into addressing this issue myself. It is about the principle and the complete lack of accountability shown in how this situation has...
Read moreBeing a small business owner myself, I appreciate how valuable a customer review can be. Moreover, having a negative or bad experience is one that you must address to rectify with the customer who had this not so friendly experience. My situation is simple...I had received a quote to tint the windows on my car and verified what this price included. I set an appointment for 8:30am on a Saturday morning to have them perform the work. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by an employee who did not introduce himself, instead he started our conversation with you were told the wrong information about what the cost will be concerning the tinting of your car. He went on to explain why, which didn’t make much sense, and then told me it would be an additional $40.00 and more time then I was original told. Wow!!! Needless to say I was not prepared for an additional cost and the matter-of-fact...take it or leave it attitude was very upsetting. Customer service is a cornerstone to the success or failure of a business. Training people properly is just as important...seems to me this company needs to address both skill-sets with their people! I was very frustrated and will not advocate their services to any of my family, friends, or acquaintances. Furthermore, would expect much more from a fellow Chamber of Commerce member. Buyer Beware!!!!
Update....12/19/2018 Second Chances..... After receiving a phone call from James (Owner & Operator - Jag Tinting), I was asked to give his organization another opportunity to make it right. We rescheduled an appointment to try this again...and I was impressed on how I was treated and the job his staff performed. All went very well! To be fair, it was ashame that we had to do this twice, I would expect each customer is treated correctly the first time! The tinting work was done very well and would recommend this service to other...
Read moreJAG Window Tinting has completed three of my vehicles, and I recommend opting in for this business due their phenomenal performance. They have a wider variety of tinting that appeals to all drivers, and those dwelling in home units.
It appears when finished, all tinting receives equal pristine result, however, some tints like the Ceramic and Crystalline provide heat protection that is worth treating oneself to in the Florida sun and heat. 🍊 They all provide the exact protection and privacy all drivers want and need when looking for confidence in commuting to & from work, or for leisure driving.
This store goes beyond product. The customer service is just like mom and pop shops used to be, customer oriented. They are friendly, willing to work around schedules & will keep customers updated via call or text depending on the schedule.
The representative that provided my previous appointment provided details and results only one could dream of. As a result, I have been educated on ceramic coating, which will be the next upgrade to my Ford F-150 XLT. JAG Window Tinting exhibited trust by communicating concerns specific to my vehicle, providing memorable customer service, and...
