We docked our boat at the nearby marina overnight and were looking for someplace unusual to eat and found this place. Complete hole in the wall in a semi downtrodden neighborhood with fluorescent lighting and a half dozen tables but the food is great and the owner treats you like an old friend. Owner makes the salads and his wife makes desserts. Lots of ethnic middle eastern groceries and a really extensive and unusual selection of soft drinks - just as an example 6 types of root beer as well as a delicious pomegranate drink from Saudi Arabia. Everything we has at our table was delicious and we even took some desserts back. I had the falafel sandwich. I used to frequently get falafel from Sam the falafel man who ran a cart near the World Trade Center in NYC. He always had a line of 25+ people because his were the best in town. Oasis Cafe can compare quite favorably. If you aren't bothered by walking through some semi sketchy neighborhoods, take the walk. Otherwise just Uber or Lyft it. It'll be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went in for a Greek salad and gyro meat and came out of the deli with so much more. The salad was huge (2 meals) and we got gyro meat on the side. The gyro meat was super tender and so full of flavor and was authentically sliced from a spit. The salad was filled with feta, marinated cucumbers, grape tomatoes and Kalamata olives. The dressing was so flavorful. We got a few pre-made items from the deli, which were all very delicious/ curry chicken salad, lentil veggie salad and feta sun dried tomato pasta. Their spanakopita (spinach pie) was filled with spinach and feta and was very flaky. We couldnāt leave without dessert treats- carrot cake, almond cookies, baklava and Kataifi nut pastry. All dessert treats were very yummy. The owner and his son were very kind and let us sample a few things....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been wanting to eat here for awhile and finality made it in! It was only 30 minutes before closing, but we were treated with the same patience and quality service as if we'd come earlier in the night. The owner was so pleasant and accommodating. We order falafel pitas, gyro, and various sides (lentil salad, different pasta salads, and potato salad), all of which was exceptional! The pitas are so soft and delicious, and the falafel was seasoned and cooked perfectly! I have eaten Mediterranean food in various countries and stateside, and this is easily one of the best! The prices are very affordable, and the servings are very generous. I absolutely recommend a visit here for a...
