Bought a USED motorcycle for my husband, as a gift, from Champions Honda. I went in to sign paperwork and the pricing was drastically higher. I started to question the figures. We were told a certain price for the warranty and on the paperwork it was a higher price. WHY? . Well, my husband wanted the bike, so I signed. They kept the motorcycle an additional week to âSUPPOSEDLYâ check the bike, clean it, and service it for delivery. It gets delivered, dirty as the day it was looked at. It didnât idle smoothly. My husband called them upset, they were surprised that someone would call about getting a motorcycle in this condition. They agreed to take the motorcycle back in, clean it and look at it. Well they lied. THEY CLEANED IT AND THEN JUST MUST HAVE SAT THERE AND JUST "LOOKED" AT IT, because it was still not idling right or running right. We complained again about the running condition of this cycle. They came and took it again This time when we called, they stated there is nothing wrong with the motorcycle. The general Manager Mike stated that he was sending the motorcycle to a Suzuki dealer in Orlando and that the bike would be serviced properly, as they are not capable diagnosing this brand and that he would show us the bill. Another Lie. 3 days past, they stated they changed the spark plugs and that it is running as it should now. Delivered home and still not running right. I now called and talked with Matt and he stated the motorcycle would be picked up and have to go to a Suzuki dealer this time and get serviced. They showed up on Friday afternoon and picked up the motorcycle. We went to the dealer on Saturday morning to check and see where the motorcycle went. They never sent it out, they stated there is nothing wrong with it. Upon proving to them that it is running bad, they stated they cannot fix the bike as they do not have the equipment to even find out what is wrong with it. The General Manger, Mike, walked out of his office and stated to me and I quote, âYOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BE HAPPY WITH THIS BIKE, I AM DONE WITH YOU GUYSâ. I challenged him on what I was told that the bike was going to be taken to a Suzuki dealer for service. Mike stated, âI sold you a used motorcycle, I am not doing anymore for you, take the bike and leave. I then asked how can you sell a bike that is not properly running, you canât service it, and you sell them to people. Mike got madder and yelled, get out of his store or he was going to call the police and have me removed. He stated the bike was being brought out, take it and leave. The motorcycle was in the service dept for 12 days out of the 21 days of ownership. We havenât even got to the first payment YET. They have a mission statement on the Champions Honda website. IT STATES AND I QUOTE, â30 DAY GUARANTEE ON USED MOTORCYCLESâ and we arenât even out of the first 30 days of our ownership. SAD. If they never intended to service the motorcycle, why did they come and remove it from the property and take it back to their dealership? Was this a grand scheme to pull off another lie? My husband was calm, I was totally and completely upset. One of the people in service told my husband to go to a Suzuki dealer and get it serviced, BUT donât go to Spaceport, because they will lie to you and cheat you. REALLY? THAT'S THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK! They will lie to you over pricing and then blame you. They will fault the customer for expecting proper running motorcycles to be delivered and when you call them out on their terrible service, they yell at you, tell you to leave, blame you for their lies, and then threaten to call the police if you donât leave. They are dishonest people of the highest order. You need to know, this dealer is part of a dealer group , owned by the Mealey family. Please let them know, to lie people out of their hard earned money may not be illegal, but that it will not be an accepted practice. Donât...
Read moreIâve been looking to buy the newly redesigned Kawasaki KLX 300 dual sport since it was announced last fall. Not very many dealers have been able to get one of these and when they do, they sell it virtually immediately. So when I saw Champions had one in stock I called the store and spoke with Scott Ross. He confirmed the bike was in inventory and not held by deposit (something other dealers fail to do just to get you in the store) and agreed to hold it with a deposit. The next day I drove two hours from home to buy it.
When I got there the bike was waiting for me with a SOLD hanger asking people not to sit on it. Nice move Scott! I spent a few minutes looking the bike over and taking some pictures of it while Scott wrapped up with other customers he had before I got there. When he was done, we went to his desk and all of the purchase paperwork was already completed! Also a nice move! This wouldâve aggravated me had I intended to negotiate the price but I knew in my head the price I was willing to pay before making the drive. The price was right, as the saying goes. Yes, a little higher than Iâd normally pay - I like to negotiate down superfluous dealer fees - but this time I wanted the bike quickly. Besides, someone else would happily come along and buy it. I know this because it happened to me a couple times recently.
Throughout the process, Scott was keeping in touch via text and when the deal was finally done, he even helped me load it onto my carrier. Heâs a little more worrisome than I am when it comes to loading bikes so he even grabbed me an extra ratchet strap for my front wheel!
If I had anything to add to this story, something which would throw some shade on the experience, was that Scott didnât throw anything extra into the deal. When I bought my Honda from another dealership, they tossed in a very nice distressed ball cap! LOL I even got to choose the one I liked from the wall. AND, that was after I took them to the cleaners on a leftover 2017 dual sport bike they couldnât sell. Oh well, does the lack of a hat make me regret buying from Champions? Hell no, not one bit. Iâd do it again - and maybe I will if they release a KLX 450 dual sport down the road.
Or maybe if my need for an Africa Twin gets out of control one day! Thanks Scott and everyone from Champions! It was good to do business with you.

Read moreI purchased my first motorcycle (2024 Royal Enfield Shotgun 650) from Matias and his manager John last weekend and Iâm so glad I decided to buy from Sky instead of the local BMW motorcycle dealership in my area. I live 150+ miles away, but the staff at Sky Powersports are so friendly, attentive, respectful, and knowledgeable that I drove down on a Saturday morning to do business.
I had spoken with Matias over the phone the day before to confirm the bike I wanted was still in stock, as well as the advertised price. He was super willing to chat, took down my information, answered all of my questions, and made me feel like a valued customer. When I arrived, he was with another customer and John let him know he would start me off so Matias had time to finish his engagement and could jump back in when he was free. John was also excellent, patient, and (I felt) transparent and candid with me about the purchase process and pricing. We agreed on a price just as Matias was coming back. Matias took my information, set up the paperwork, and introduced me to the parts and service advisor (I believe his name was Eddie), who explained the maintenance schedule for my specific model, gave me a printout, and let me know about service plan offerings that I may want to take advantage of.
I was then brought to the accessories department, where I already knew and loved Gannon, who had helped me purchase my helmet, jacket, and Cardo a couple of months prior, and I picked up a bike cover and lock for a discount, which was wonderful. Finally, I was greeted by Jason, the Finance Manager, who walked me through all of the purchase paperwork and additional offerings for sale. I ended up adding a total wheel protection plan (because Florida roads) and wrote the check for my bike. As soon as everything was signed and sealed, I was handed my key, and my bike was waiting for me out front, plate and all, ready for me to ride home.
The process did take a bit longer than I was hoping, especially since I didnât finance, but itâs not like you can just scan and bag a new vehicle at self checkout! I appreciate all of the information and support that was offered, the enthusiasm and attention from the whole team made me feel so valued and respected. These guys love what they do, and they donât play head games or condescend the way I felt I was treated at my local dealership. I canât wait to bring my bike in for its first oil change and...
