Village Beach House — Local services in Cocoa

Cute shop. Lots of unique pieces. My friend and I came in for the sticker scavenger hunt as part of the bookstore’s pride scavenger hunt. I just wanted a postcard but I asked the cashier if they had a card minimum, and if they did I’d get something additional. The guy said they did but it was fine, but it clearly bothered him. So my friend made a self deprecating joke about how we were millennials and millennials are killing the cash economy and the cashier did NOT understand and took a lot of offense. Us trying to explain it didn’t help because he just escalated it by calling us rude and said he would hurry to check us out so we could leave the store. He was very combative and said our “opinion” was stupid and that we didn’t care cash was stupid and that we were stupid. He said we didn’t care about businesses, which doesn’t make sense since we were trying to take time in each business participating to learn more about them and buy a little something. I had offered to buy more to offset the card fees. We left without even getting the stickers we’d come in for, which we didn’t see available anywhere for people doing the scavenger hunt. The man at the counter was super aggressive and rude when I visited as part of the Cocoa Village Pride event's sticker scavenger hunt. He berated my party and I for being millennials, selfish, and wasting "his money" on credit card fees for a small purchase (even after saying there was no minimum for credit card purchases). He held us hostage with my friends credit card before saying "well let's just get you out of here." Even as we left he was muttering hateful and combative...

This beach shop is AWESOME!!! So much to look at and a great selection to purchase from! I am from North Carolina and was down visiting family, I met some cousins there, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this shop!! I made several purchases and I am definitely going back in April, when down visiting again. They have amazing prices on their Talavera collection. Very friendly and helpful staff! LOVE LOVE...
