It’s easy to really really like this brewery. First it is located in beautiful and historic Cocoa Village. The building is the area’s original Buick car dealership built in the 1930s. The brewery and taproom are in what was the service department. Think huge tall area with old brick, steel rafters, and solid wood ceiling... but renovated with modern features like air conditioning. If you enter from the village you can’t miss the big open garage door. Then the main reason to really really like this place. This is a micro brewery. They make small batches of quality craft beer. They keep about 20 taps active with a broad selection of core beers and constantly rotating seasonals. They make every thing from lagers to imperial stouts from mild to high ABV. Everything they brew is spot on. My current favorite is Haze Zeus IPA. My wife says they have a good selection of very nice wines. The food situation in this brewery is great. They have pub grub like pretzels, wings, sliders, and paninis served in the taproom. Bugnutty has music a couple nights weekly. Wednesday is open mic with local artists. On Friday or Saturday they have a named act. Facebook lists the events. The staff are super friendly and knowledge about beer. They will provide tastes to help you find the perfect beer. Or you can pick your own flight. If you are in the brewery during the day (Monday thru Friday) you will probably see the brewer’s hard at work. Like most breweries they have a bunch of games to play and dart boards. There is plenty of seating but you order at the bar. Overall this is a great place to have a few craft beers and enjoy wonderful food with your friends.

This the type of brewery that local people love and after spending 30 mins here can see why. Huge selection of craft brews, plentiful seating area and great prices. A nice variety to suit most styles and customer services. As for the beer quality, A+ quality. Their stouts were dark and flavorful. They do a great job on their descriptions of beer so you know you what you are trying before hand. Had a few as well I normally don't try and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed them. They have a kitchen on site so can enjoy food while you drink. Overall an excellent brewery that I highly and I mean highly recommend if in Cocoa, FL and want a place to drink and chill.

Excellent strong beers and absurdly good food! Had a chance to chat with one of the owners, he was super friendly and gave me some advice on launch watching. Beer: The X37-C triple IPA is stunningly smooth and tasty. The 2020 Sputnik Russian Imperial stout was incredible. Food: Holy hell, the Prime Rib Dip was amazing and the Hot Garlic chicken wings were so tasty my <100lbs wife killed 10 of them. The crispy baked chicken wings were so incredibly tender. The food is prepared by Wanderlust Cafe, who moved here due to COVID. It's a match made in heaven. Some of the best food I've had at a brewery ever.

Bugnutty Brewing - Merritt Island - 1.0-Star

"Make a customer, not a sale."-Barchetti

This is my 325th restaurant visited since October 2017. While the food at Bugnutty Brewing is not Swill, and the atmosphere is above average, what this restaurant lacks is an owner who cares and service staff who can conform their behavior at least to the absolute lowest passable standards of quality available.

Last month we gave the BBDO awards for best server. All of the people who made the list were appreciative. What I did not do is want to re-hash all of the bad service I have encountered and continue to embarrass people who may have had an off day or just were not possessed of the even the smallest intellect to perform this sometimes difficult task of waiter or waitress.

Which brings me to Matthew, our bartender/server at Bugnutty. Matthew is possessed of above average intelligence because I could hear him confidently engage the owner in witty back-and-forth banter as he expertly ignored all 3 customers and me on this football Sunday with big screen televisions. Once he decided to pull himself away from the owner he did not move, he just stood up 10 feet away and yelled across the bar for our order. No "welcome," "do you have any questions," or "are you interested in food?" came from his mouth. I could feel my eyelids flutter as I was trying to mentally process what was going on. So, I asked him who the guy is at the end of the bar, to which he responded that he was the owner. Like hitting the jackpot at a Las Vegas slot machine, it all became obvious: the owner could care less about what was going on around him. Customers be damned, I am going to talk to the bartender and set a horrendous example of unadulterated laziness. Normally, I would say something in an attempt to get to the bottom of the service issues but the owner was obviously intoxicated and being belligerent.

I screamed across the bar over the blaring music and television sets if I could see the beer list and a food menu. The hilarious part was AFTER I said that, the other two customers made the same requests. This made me wonder how long these two guys had been sitting there intimidated by lazy Matt and the drunk owner.

From where we were sitting you could see directly into the storeroom. I observed multiple fermentation tanks and 50-plus bags of hops and barley. My spirits started to rise. I ordered a flight of six beers. I could give you the list of all of them and their note levels, but it is retrospectively unnecessary because they all tasted the same and all had a metal/tin aftertaste. There is apparently zero regulation of home-brew restaurants because this was the most foul tasting beer I have ever consumed.

Moving on to the food, the menu is dominated by sandwich entrees and chicken wings. Also, sitting lonely atop the limited selections, was hummus. Being of middle eastern descent, my interest piqued when Matt belabored the point that it is even made by the owner's wife. Hmmmmm, okay. I ordered one of the many sandwich offerings and was told the equipment was broken, effectively eliminating half or more of their menu options. I asked how long the equipment had been broken and got a shoulder shrug. Plan B then - hummus and chicken wings it is, garlic style. The alleged hummus was not, in fact, hummus at all. There was no tahini in it nor was there any lemon or garlic. I could not discern what, in fact, I actually consumed. Riding a fast train to a Swill Alert, the owner got up to bake our chicken wings. Yes, BAKE them. They arrived slathered in garlic sauce that was actually not bad, thus barely saving them from a Swill Alert. Still, the rest of this dump is horrid.

The Big Boy says, avoid Bugnutty at all costs. It's horrifically unpleasant, and they don't seem to care.

I generally am inclined to give as high of a review as I can and sadly for Bugnutty - this is the best I could do.

We came in mid-afternoon on a Saturday and they were moderately busy, but not packed. We sat at the bar and looked over the menu and the server (there was only one working when we got there) came over and I told him we’d like to try a flight. He went back and got a flight card and we filled it out and waited and waited and waited.

If it wasn’t for our server helping several (not just one or 2) people that came in after us I probably wouldn’t have been as irritated. He seemed kind of like he either was unaware or possibly he didn’t care.

We did not order food, but another major knock against what we observed was the same server went from handling cash to handling food that was ordered by someone else without washing his hands or outing on gloves. If we weren’t seated directly in front of their kitchen area - we likely wouldn’t have noticed. I guess that’s a knock against sitting where you can view that.

I think I was disappointed because it seems like a cool place. They have dart boards, board games and seem family oriented.

A couple of their beers were fantastic and others just average. I felt like it could have been a much better experience than it was and perhaps we caught them on a bad...
