Noel's IGA Supermarket — Local services in Colchester

Growing up in Colchester this was THE grocery store in town... I forget when Tri Town came in, but even still it seemed like everyone chose Noel's.

As a teen I worked here for 2 summers ... So I've seen it behind the counter...

As an adult shopping here, the butcher/deli is still the best in New London County. There are other really good ones yes, but I vote Noel's Butcher as the best... Their prices are so reasonable. The quality is fantastic and I'm always pleased!

The rest of the store, compared to the big box stores, is a little pricey. Their options aren't as many. So quality over quantity leads us to one factor which makes it pricier.

The last several times I was a customer, the only staff I encountered were teenagers who hadn't heard of the products I was looking to purchase. (Specifically ricotta cheese) and did they even offer to help or look for it... The answer is NO. Which is why I cannot give it a 5. I am sure they were trained different but we all know just because someone is trained to do something at their job, doesn't mean they will!

I will continue to shop...

I love to go here for a quick shopping visit it is never crowded and the employees are all ways eger to help you . this is your small town mom & Pop grocery store . my favorite place to go get all my meat's .they have a large variety of freshest meat's weather it's ground beef or chicken,.pork. , home made sausage and so much more . you pick what you want and how much and it is all ways hand picked and wrapped just for you not pre packaged for days like the large chain stores and the prices on meat's are. Way cheaper some times half of what you would find at Stop & Shop. They all so have large variety of freshest prepared dishes to choose from if you're in rush ready to cook all hand made in store not to mention the Delly makes sandwiches or grinders that are huge way better and cheaper than Subway .I highly recommend it go see for yourself you won't be...

This is a great little local, family style grocery store. I frequently go here for their deli meats and other butcher items - like racks of ribs, chicken breasts, and their delicious fresh made burgers. Try the cheddar bacon burgers on your grill. You won’t be displeased!

That being said - the service at the deli counter is amazing. I’ll frequently “go down the line” when I order, starting with deli meals, then pasta salads, then steaks and burgers. I’m met with a friendly experience every time.

Prices are local prices - you can pay more or less depending upon the item, similar to Stop&Shop or even Big Y - it all depends on what items you’re buying.

Checkout is a breeze with tons of assistance and friendly cashiers to see you through your day with a smile.
