Took my car in for a routine tire rotation and balance on Wednesday 9/13. The shop wasn't really busy at all. I saw some of the technicians standing around in the garage.
Clayton (sales associate) took my car in - nice guy so nothing personal. I had issues in the past with other Discount Tire shops causing cosmetic damage to my wheels so I deliberately went all the way to Collierville from Cordova to get service because of their high reviews. I told Clayton this and to have the guys be careful.
Upon giving my keys to one of the technicians, Clayton told him to be careful. Not sure what happend after that because not only were my wheels further nicked up, but the wheel rotation was incorrectly done and it took, not ONE, or TWO, but THREE tries to finally get them rotated properly. Apparently the tech who was initially handling my car went off somewhere halfway and told a few new guys to work on my car. This resulted in loosing track of the wheels being rotated.
I noticed certain wheels didn't move because I had some minor, but noticeable curb damage on my rims that were still in the same position. Had them redo it again, and actually left the lot before noticing now the Front-Left wheel was only moved to the Front-Right!
At that point, I was obviously upset so when I pulled in again Clayton asked what the issue was now and then said, "so how do you want these done?" Obviously, the right way!
I ended up having to borrow a piece of chalk from the mechanics and try to figure out the correct wheel positions on my own tires before having the job was done "right".
I've been a customer with Discount Tire for over 10 years. The last few visits at various locations were just OK, but this last one were absolutely horrible. It's sad to see how bad their service has gotten.
TLDR: Took 3 tries to get a basic tire rotation and balance right. Wheel finished chipped and nicked. Shop wasn't even busy to be in a rush, so I lack the confidence of the technicians' training/ability/care at this location to do...
Read moreLet me start by saying I like the way the Discount Tire website is setup. The main reason why I purchased tires from Discount City is because I could purchase them online. I was able to choose from several discount tire locations that are in the Memphis area. The inventory was different for each store. I found what I like and purchased it online and selected an appointment time for the installation. I had the option to purchase the warranty on the tires but i declined to purchase the warranty. I purchased the Goodyear Assurance MaxLife tires for my Toyota Avalon. When I arrived at the store, Bruce came right outside and greeted me promptly. The customer service was great. When we walked into the store, he was able to immediately pull up my order. He told me that he would contact me as soon as they completed the installation. It didn't take long at all and I was able to pick up my car within an hour or so. I was impressed with the service and the quality of the tires. I have had them for a few weeks now and my car has a much smoother ride with my new tires. The customer service and online ordering process is what distinguishes Discount Tire from the competitors and I will purchase my next set of tires from Discount Tire because of the website ordering process. I have a record of my purchase in my email from my online order for future reference...
Read moreI've always had a great experience with Discount Tires, and specifically this Collierville store. They seem to always have the best prices, or pretty close to the same as you can find elsewhere and usually have most of them in stock and ready to go. Anywhere else usually has had a couple or three, but never a full set of 4 and would take a couple days to get them in before they'd be able to install. I like their website and that it shows you what exactly they have in stock or if you're looking for a specific tire, if and how many they have. I've used them the last two times for some Michelin Defenders for our truck and SUV and they've been the only place that had a full set in stock, ready to go. Good service, prompt communications the whole process, good installs and balancing. Never had any issues at all. This last time, I needed 4 for a commuting vehicle. Bought and booked an appt online for 8 am the next day. Brought it in around 4:30 pm that night to drop it off for the next day. Bruce said they could possibly get it done right then if they had them in stock like the website said. Sure enough they did. They got it in right away and about 25-30 minutes later it was done and ready to go. Pretty awesome experience. Super fast, and friendly service. Such a nice, and refreshing thing to experience these days. Everyone I delt with was very friendly and...
