I normally like Papa John's pizza. I have a large family and order pizza for the kids on Friday nights.
I ordered two pizza's from the Collierville TN store recently and the driver never showed up. Papa Johns called about an hour after I ordered the pizza, I missed the call but called back 30 seconds later. Was told they would call driver and I would have pizza momentarily.
After I hung up with the restaurant, I listened to the message that was left from the call I missed. With a pretty rude tone a Papa John's employee claimed a driver was outside and we should not order pizza if we are not going to be home or answer our phone. I had several kids waiting at the door and two dogs who go a bit "nuts" when anyone rings the bell, I was most definitely home, and no one rang the bell.
Anyway, 15 minutes later..... no pizza. I called back and asked to speak to the manager. He said, "look, I don't know what to tell you, you have to be home for us to deliver a pizza". I explained I had been home the entire time. He said, "well since you are home now... we can bring the pizza back". I let him know I was concerned the pizza's would be cold, and that I did not appreciate the insinuation that I had not been home after I explained that I had been.
At this point he asked in what can only be characterized as a smitten and sarcastic tone, "Well, what can I do to make you happy then". I was done and just asked for a refund. Luckily I put the charge on American Express (who has phenomenal customer service) , because no refund credit has showed up yet.
Really disappointing experience. I understand mistakes happen and I would not have been upset with the order getting "sideways" if they made an attempt to make it right. When the restaurant started getting rude, blaming me for the problem, and giving me attitude for trying to give them business.... well, that ended my relationship with Papa...
Read moreThe pizza at this Pappajohn's is decent, but so is Pizza Inn and Dominos and a couple of local places, however I went to Pappa Johns more because it is closer to me house, and they give a reasonable pick up time, however I ordered a pizza to pick up tonight and then realized my wife took my keys and I had no way to pick it up. By this time, it had to be 30 minutes old due to me not being able to pick it up. I called and asked them to deliver it and the rude girl on the phone said there would be a charge for delivery and they could deliver it within 40 minutes. I told her that it would be pretty cold and soggy by then and she said, so you don't want the pizza right? I said not if it is going to take that long. She said ok so you want me to throw it away? I said yes if 40 minutes is my only option. She said OK, and hung up. Customer service is an oxymoron to these people, at least at the local one in Collierville. So I am out 20.00 and my only option otherwise was a ridiculous time frame of a pizza...
Read moreWorst customer service ever. We stopped ordering from here a while ago but decided to take a chance and order again. The last few times we ordered the pizza was just not good. The pizza was dry & in some cases overcooked. Not sure what’s happening at this location. Short staffing maybe. Anyway this time I placed an online order & realized I forgot to tell them to exclude bacon from one of the pizzas. I called the restaurant three times and they kept placing me on hold. By the time they finally came back to the line the guy says “yeah it’s already in the oven”. Well had you not left me on hold so long it could’ve been caught prior to. Just a waste of...
