I really want to like this place but there are some questionable decisions that make it a very annoying experience. The main one is that you have to order at the counter. This is insane to me, because sometimes all you will need is a refill on your drink and you will have to wait behind ten people placing their orders for food. That is a surefire way to guarantee slow service. Sometimes you can order on the bar side but there are only four seats at the bar that fill up fast (usually with small, loud children) but sometimes you'll go to the bar because that's where you ordered last time, only to be told you have to go over to the desk and order your drink there. There's no continuity between visits, which is breaking rule number one of running a restaurant and bar.
If you manage to get in this place when it's dead, the experience is fine. It is very expensive for a place that sells hotdogs though, and it's hard to justify paying so much when the setup of the brewery is so bad. I just don't understand why the price is premium if the food and service aren't.
As soon as there are more than just a couple people in this place the service grinds to a halt and the room gets incredibly loud, usually because it is filled with children or there's trivia happening. And I don't mean your normal type of loud that you experience in a crowded bar, the ceilings are very high and it kinda feels like you're in a warehouse filled with partygoers. Everything echoes and amplifies.
I would love to see this place change the way that food was ordered so it wasn't such a pain. The food and beer is pretty good even if it is pretty expensive...
Read moreFood & beer were great. It’s hard to find a lunch under $10 nowadays. Glad someone local offers this. The kid area is very cute and my toddler loved it.
Knocking off a star for service. It’s very strange having to stand in line for everything needed, clean up after yourself, and then be asked to tip 15-25%.
Customer is responsible for going to counter for everything - ordering, picking up food, getting napkins & condiments, getting a refill, getting a take out box, etc really takes away from experience of eating out. Seems like wait staff could at-least bring out food and make the rounds if anything is needed?
More than half the tables were empty and marked as reserved. I don’t understand why customers have to sit so closely around the kid area & counter? Those without kids looked annoyed. Who are these empty tables reserved for, for hours, during the busy lunch rush? Is it simply so the staff has even less...
