My name is Ciera Edwards this is my full statement regarding my experience with Crunch Fitness. I am currently stil trying to receive a refund for 3 separate charges due to services not rendered. Transaction dates are, August 31, 2022, October 3, 2022 and October 18, 2022 for $149.00 each. I signed a three month contract at the beginning of May to receive training services by crunch fitness. I fulfilled that contract with my trainer and decided I wanted to continue training with her. I did not sign another contract. I continued to train with her for two weeks with the understanding that I was paying for services as I received them. I then went out of state for the month of September. When I returned, I came back to the charges listed above. During my time away my trainer quit Crunch Fitness. Crunch did not contact me to notify me of my trainer leaving or to reschedule me with a new trainer for the training already charged to my account August 31. Then continued to charge me for October 3 and October 18. Once I realized these transactions were occurring I emailed them and called them to cancel all charges and my membership. I even asked to be set up with a trainer in my email sent 10/20/22 to use the training sessions I was charged for August 31st. I never received any attempts to get me with a new trainer. I have been attempting to communicate with them since October 20, 2022 to try to resolve this situation and receive a refund. There was never a response to two separate email attempts. I have been calling them biweekly and physically going into Crunch trying to resolve this issue with the road blocks every time. I have been very patient due to a high turnover in management. Every time I have gone into Crunch to resolve this issue or called there is a new manager that I have to talk to, and explain the whole situation. No documentation of any of these correspondences were saved in my files there. I requested the original contract that I signed, stating that I was only signed up for automatic payments from the beginning of May to July. One of the many managers I spoke to said that they had disposed of that documentation. I tried to request higher management, such as their regional manager many times and I was always told they were out of town and would call me within two weeks. I never received any calls from Crunch management regarding this issue. During this entire process all contact was initiated by me. Each time I called back the management member I previously spoke to quit. I spoke with five separate managers four of them no longer work for Crunch. The regional manager is the management member that has been consistently employed with Crunch, since the original transitions were charged. I was told by one of the managers I spoke with that if they gave me any higher management members information that they would be fired. All of this to explain that I just want my money back for services I did not receive and was charged for. The lack of communication from this business is frankly insane and they should not be able to get away with peoples money due to their inability to manage services, keep records, and...
Read moreIf I could hive 0 stars I would. Fraud theft and breach contract. I entered into contract with crunch fitness on 01/18/2024 for 3 months of personal training. The contract that I signed has a box that asks if you would like to continue a month to month contract after your initial contract period has ended. I circled NO on this section. 3 months should have taken me to April 18th however I was still charged $176 every two weeks after this. I had surgery on March 19th and had contacted my personal trainer to postpone the remaining physical training sessions until after my recovery. When I went to look at my bank statement and noticed that I was still being charged and I contacted Crunch fitness and was put in contact with the general manager, Jenni. Jenni could not produce my original contract. The "copy" that was emailed to me in January does not have my signature or my selections and only has the digital signature of the personal trainer that I had started the program with, and his digital selection of "yes" for a month to month. My original contract was done by hand and they claim not to know where it could have gone. I pulled up this "copy" and emailed it to Jenni who said she didn't even know the clause to opt out was available on the contract. After speaking with the district manager she stuck to the claim they they do not offer an option to opt out of the month to month even though it is plainly written that they do. On top of this there is a clause for death or disability that states that if you are not fully able to use their equipment due to either that you would be refunded from the date of disability for any services paid for and not rendered. They claim that I do not qualify for this because I did not tell them prior, a stipulation which is not in the contract. Jenni then told me the most they can do is prevent me from being charged further yet I was still charged again. This company is not only in breach of contract but has committed theft and perfectly pleased with doing so. I've made reports to the BBB and Attorney Generals office. And if this can't be solved through my bank I will absolutely be hiring an attorney and I'll be going for more than just what they stole from me. EDIT: They're still trying to charge me after I used their website to cancel but are still attempting to charge me and threaten fees, the email address they provide to contact them...
Read moreThis Silver Sneakers member of Crunch since 2018 feels ripped off by getting only 1 of 6 paid training sessions. Sorry if following is TL;DR
Back in late Feb, 2025, Crunch North had an offer of 12 training sessions of 30 minutes for $420. I expressed interest to “M” (acting GM at the time) in a package of 6 sessions for $210, but primarily for accountability on weight loss and personal bests. My intent was having a session every 2nd or 3rd month, for an overall duration of 12 to 18 months. M initially said “No”. We went round and round for 15+ minutes, but he finally agreed and I paid on Feb 25, 2025. My bad … I didn’t get the specifics in writing. I also never received any verification or contract via email.
I had my free 60 minute "Jump Start" with a relatively new trainer “J” several weeks later, mostly to have him observe the Push-Pull-Legs split I currently was doing 6x/week. The 1st of 6 sessions was 6-8+ weeks later. It went marginally ok.
Since then, J has not returned any of multiple voice messages and texts to schedule the 2nd session. I've repeatedly requested managers from "R" (GM for month or so) to M and "T" (the trainer supervisor) to change to a different trainer or a refund. Each said the equivalent of "we'll get this worked out." M and I did negotiate 2 months between sessions. I asked for a refund ($175), but that wasn’t an option.
TMI? In that same time frame, M made a (bogus?) accusation that I had had sexually harassed a former member (“nice b**bs”), which I vehemently denied … “Didn’t happen!!!” I asked to see video confirmation, which he refused, only saying "Why would she lie?". I worried I was being set up to have my membership cancelled and remaining $175 of $210 evaporate. FWIW: we'd previously prayed together for M to have strength to resist temptations from the "occupational hazard" of scantily clothed members.
At an Oct 11 workout, "T" mentioned that months earlier, J told T that J didn't want to be part of the accountability package I bought. I figured that explained his ignoring my attempts to schedule the 2nd thru 6th sessions. T also mentioned that training packages normally have to be completed within 90 days.
