A wonderful place to explore and adventure. Brownish green high grasses cover the valley floor, while the steep hills feature noble pine trees surrounded by scrub oaks and other brush. The paths are narrow, but considering the vast degree of open space and the relative lack of hikers, this is not a problem. The stark allure of the Colorado wilds is clear here, from the gnarled old pines and junipers to the sheer ridges formed of vaguely reddish stone. Because of the narrowness of the dells, the cliffs seem higher and more majestic. The hike on AllTrails is called āAustin Bluffs Main and Pulpit Ridge Trailā. Enter these coordinates ā38.909870, -104.789980ā into google maps and it will take you to the trailhead, where you can park in the street leading up to the traffic circle. The trailhead is just off of the circle. Beautiful quiet little easy hike with a view of pikes peak. Great for dogs but watch for bikers as the trail is narrow. Plenty of tree cover.
