I almost hate to leave this review because this place has some of the most talented people Iāve ever seen in Colorado Springs concentrated into one salon. They are truly artists and I have mad respect for their talent.
Iāve had different people cut and color my hair. Mostly because I often canāt schedule out too far in advance because I have been rather sick and I make last moment appointments. I canāt say I have ever not liked any haircut, but my last haircut was my favorite. I think Iāve had a total of 4 different people cut my hair over roughly a year and a half, with one person cutting it twice.
Itās my color that has been a source of frustration. I never hate it, but itās also not what Iām asking for. I ask for blonde, and I mean blonde. My hair has been blonde and I know itās possible. As demonstrated in the pics I show them. They spend a lot of time, so itās not for a lack of trying.
They get done, and I look at the color and itās more root beer colored or what I think of as light brown. I specifically say, ādonāt go to the roots because I like it a blonde and a little trashy with rootsā. They say they are doing this and that, and I trust them to know what they are doing, and I say, āok, do what you think will have it the intended end resultā.
The time before the last time (which will be the final time), the person who foiled my hair took so long, I really thought, āthis will be wowzaā, but I was in that chair so long I missed my hair cutting appointment. And Iām just going to say, if someone takes HOURS to foil my hair, Iām just not going to say, āum no, I donāt like itā. That person took an inordinate amount of time to make my hair look so perfectly blended and natural, but Iām not going for that look. š¢ I just canāt. But it isnāt close to the color I showed them. I will still tip them, and yes I know I should complain, but I already spent hours and I just canāt disrespect the time they put in.
The last time, I scheduled an appointment to discuss the color beforehand. Like, I know this place is good, so please, give me blonde hair. Like really blonde. We discussed it. Had the pics. I also found out the last person who took forever and got my color wrong is no longer there. My hair was better, but still not the color I was going for.
Hereās the rub, I moved to this place because I have had some difficulty with past haircuts. My hair is very fine, but thick. Iāve noticed some places get a little complacent with cutting skills. And I do not want to be called a triangle head again. Yes, thatās a thing. But Iāve had the color several times. š So why is this so hard?
I was just going to give up and try a new place (well I am), but after watching a TikTok today with both stylists and customers warring over this issue, I decided to weigh in here. And this is why Iām going to quit this specific place even though I think they have some of the most talented stylists Iāve ever seen (truly). With two products and gratuity it was $466. This is just TOO much.
I know they know when they see that color they canāt NOT know itās not the color I asked for. But even if I make allowances for stylists getting used to my hair, or seeing a pic different than me, when I spend $300 to $400 on my hair, I want to be floating on air, happy, and Iām not.
I read a lot of the reviews and comments. Most are amazing, and the prices really seem to vary. I donāt mind paying for a service and those are artists in my mind, but this is just too much money for what I am getting.
While Iām on the subject. I donāt appreciate the āup chargesā for things that would normally be included in a service. Iāve been to nice salons all over the United States, and the recent trend for some places to charge extra to blow dry or condition your hair after you already paid good money for a service takes away from the experience. Just charge accordingly. I feel bad for women walking out with wet heads. And I want to see the results with the haircut. Please, donāt charge me extra for that.
So to summarize, if you got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have honestly had two bad experiences here now. The first one I thought was a fluke and decided to give Hairdressing Co. another chance. This last time I called to schedule two weeks in advance some extra time on my appointment as I wanted to add highlights to my appointment. The girl said no problem and I showed up on my scheduled day at my scheduled time. My hairdresser apparently was never told the extra time was added to my appointment. She then rushed through my appointment trying to accommodate the highlights but only had me sit with the color on my hair for a short amount of time. On top of having to cancel my hair cut that I was wanting because she wouldnāt have time. She had another stylist wash my hair which she left a lot of the dark dye in my hair. The other stylist barely dried my hair as I had brown water dripping onto my clothes from my hair. I asked to towel dry my hair myself. I then paid close to $300 for a hair service I couldnāt even see because my hair was soaking wet. I had plans after the hair appt but couldnāt go to them because I had to go home and dry my hair myself. When I did get home I realized that my hair was barely lightened. I called the salon to have it redone and made an appointment for a different day to have it cut. I ended up having to reschedule that appointment and called the day before to reschedule. Again the girl said okay and moved the appointment to the following week. Come to find out that day I received a text that my appointment was never canceled and they were charging me for half the service I missed? I am never one to write a review like this but after talking to two of my friends they also said they had similar experiences and never went back. Ultimately, save your money. This salons quality of service has not aligned with the price you pay either time that I have gone.
Side note: I have called twice now and asked to have the manager call me to discuss this experience. Both times they took my information and said she would when she didnāt have a client but I have yet...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWARNING Please read before you book with Hairdressing Co! My 16 yr old daughter went in with shoulder length hair under was bleached with vivid color, we said she has a 100$ budget as she was paying the service herself. Very long story made short she walked in with them touching up the blue in her hair and charging 200$.I spoke with stylisy to make sure we both knew exactly what was happening as I had to leave and come back. So between that time and I came back it looked the exact same my daughter is shy and quiet anyway so she didn't say anything till she paid 200$ plus a undeserved tip. When we got in the car she cryed both unhappy with hair and price, the stylist did not give haircut we asked how much for a trim to just get dead ends ,she said 65$and they said 40$to blow dry after it was done ,WOW I have been to top notch salons throughout CO Springs ,they want to charge for every little thing iclueding saying that if you don;t add OLOPLEX that your hair wont be what you expect ,but that is another 40-60$ added.I called to speak with the manger very polite until the started yelling at me saying that they want to make sure there stylist was paid regardless ,then I was upset asked to speak to owner ,she returned my call a week later. She never once asked how the service was just went off of what the manager said made me repeart the issue 5 times between 3 manager I spoke with and then said I'll refund you and dont come back. I told her we wouyld pay for the vivid that is 85$ they quoted ,she then took her word back and yelled saying she will only partially refund me and hung up. Safe to say Iwill stay with PRODIGY in Co Springs there great we got her all fixed up with a cut and...
