My haircuts usually go pretty well- I just get a few inches off and some layers. I came in asking for about 4-5 inches off and heavy v-cut layers, but I barely got any layers, just a bunch of attitude from my stylist. When I got there, the lady did not greet me, but just asked if I had an appointment online, which is fine, but she was very dry and passive aggressive the whole time. I told her I wanted some inches off and she looked at me weird and asked me if I was sure like she was scared she was going to mess up my hair or something. Then, she proceeds to start chopping my hair when it was barely even wet or detangled at all. My hair is kind of wavy and on the thicker side, but it really did not require her to say "sorry your hair is just kind of hard to brush". Literally no duh, I don't even brush it dry, that's why there are wide tooth combs and detangler spray. She seemed very inexperienced but I guess I was just kind of scared to say anything because I'm just a teenager and she just kind of made me feel stupid for saying anything. I would apologize for my tangly hair and try to lighten the mood, but she seemed genuinely annoyed with me from the start. Then I asked her "Do you guys have any curl cream or something you could put in my hair?" and she mockingly laughed at me saying "yeah that's exactly what it's called!". Funny because I literally don't remember paying for attitude. The other hair stylist was talking to her customer and having a nice conversation, but this girl seemed like she wanted nothing to do with me. She was a middle age white woman with blonde highlights and a station on the left side towards the back. Also, during my whole haircut she had me faced away from the mirror (why) and when I told my mom she told me that she had a similarly bad experience with a rude lady with blonde streaks at the same station who faced her away from the mirror, as well. My mom even noticed that one side of my hair was significantly more v-shaped and steeper than the other side and told me how she had also experienced a choppy, uneven haircut. Thankfully, my hair flicks up at the ends and likes to form waves so that no one can really see the crappy job she did. Overall, I usually like the place and the people are pretty nice, but I kind of got the worst of both worlds with this rude woman who clearly did not know how to cut hair or express general human decency. I guess I really did pay for...
Read moreThese staff members talked about us to other customers while we were right there. about my 5 year olds inability to wear a mask. whom has already been going to this location his whole life and they know he cannot wear a mask. but the male manager is newer and refused us after an hour waiting. I asked the hairdresser in advance if he was comfortable cutting my sons hair and he said yes. after the very long wait, with the manager and other employee behaving unprofessional the entire time, they refused to let the employee cut my sons hair. my son has bilateral cleft palate and cleft lip and they have been told before that he can not breath in the mask. we had the same manager approach us last month in Sept and he was made aware of the physical inability to wear a mask and the mandate age being 11 and up so he left us alone and the hairdresser cut my sons hair. this time he did not leave us alone. they made my 5 year old son feel so embarrassed that he started hiding behind me as they talked about him infront of us saying "I'm not cutting his hair. goodluck with that" this location is an embarrassment to everyone with a handicap. they should be ashamed. I have raised my son that he is as normal and just as loved as every other child and these adults made him so sad he nearly cried in the car asking why they were being so mean. I cried for him. As his mother it hurt to see people be so unashamed of their toxic behavior. shame on you all. Immediately Following the incident we called and spoke to the general manager Nikki who seemed to see no fault in this behavior , stating my son "could come after hours for a hair cut." Then the manager at the location, John, said they would send a hairdresser to our house and they were so sorry. "They didn't know we could hear them talking about us." My son has yet to get a haircut as he is now worried to be bullied by the next hair dresser we try to find. What a sad...
Read moreSo my first experience at this Great Clips location, was Wonderful! I came in upset that my hair cut at my previous Barber was not correct or even of good value(sorry Sport Clips, you just are worth the Money); My second haircut at Great Clips, not a Positive Experience. The front of my Hair was butchered, like I told her it was perfect and then she went back and cut off so much more, before I could stop her. I am really upset, because she had the cut correct but went bank and ruined it. I actually didn't notice quite how bad she did until I got home, otherwise I probably wouldn't have paid her for it. It's uneven and way to short in the front. But the first Hair Cut was outstanding! I will certainly go back, it hurts less paying 20 for a Bad Hair Cut; But Tamika wont be cutting my Hair Again, I am certainly going to request the first Stylist.
I just wish I had seen how uneven and short Tamika had actually cut my Hair, because it's really upsetting now that I am at home and have brushed it out and styled it. Don't get me wrong I get it, accidents can happen, cutting Hair is tricky and it wont come out the same every time, but stop means stop. Sigh :-(
But as I said, it hurts less paying the 20.00 then it would have if the same mistake occurred at Sport Clips or any other over priced Barber Shop. Ill certainly come back; I guess I just can't be as relaxed about which stylist I allow to cut my Hair.
The Price is well appreciated, I am hoping this is...
