Please!!!! Please!!!! Please!!!!! Do not purchase anything online from the Panera Cafe, store # 204972 in Columbia, SC Harrison Drive before reading the reviews!!! This particular establishment has demonstrated time and time again that they are unreliable and fail to deliver quality products and services in a timely manner. I personally bypassed contacting cafe management after my disastrous experience on Saturday 11/16/24 after reading recent reviews because it was clear, management has no interest in addressing the problems based on the numerous negative experiences. Instead, I chose to reach out to the Panera customer care team detailing my experience. After 3 days and no response from corporate, I called them to confirm receipt of my complaint and to seek reimbursement for the product that I paid for but did not receive. The team member confirmed they had received my complaint. They apologized for failing to meet expectations and offered a $20 voucher to be used at any cafe. I thanked the team member but explained that I wasn’t interested in a voucher, I simply wanted reimbursed for the sandwich that I paid for but did not receive. I also discussed the service issue as clearly it’s been a problem at this particular cafe and it’s not being addressed. I was told to contact that particular cafe management team as they were the only ones who could issue me my refund. Read moreI recently had an extremely disappointing and unsanitary experience at Panera Bread. From the moment I walked in, the lack of cleanliness was evident. The floors were dirty, and tables had crumbs and stains all over them. The overall impression was that the staff had neglected basic cleanliness and hygiene practices.
Furthermore, the service was unprofessional and disorganized. The employees seemed uninterested in helping customers and lacked basic customer service skills. I waited in line for an unreasonably long time, only to receive a haphazardly prepared order. It was clear that there was no attention to detail or pride in their work.
In addition to the poor service, the food was subpar. The bread in my sandwich was stale and dry, and it tasted like it had been sitting out for too long. It was certainly not the fresh and delicious meal I had anticipated. The lack of quality control in the kitchen was evident, and it left me feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.
Overall, my experience at Panera Bread was nothing short of a disaster. The unclean environment, unprofessional staff, and lackluster food left a lasting negative impression. I order a breakfast sandwich and it was wrong, they weren't even busy. Good thing I checked it before leaving. Another breakfast sandwich was burnt and hand a big thumbprint squished in it! I order 2 DIFFERENT sandwiches and get 2 the SAME! Order rasin bagel, there's NO raisins, just holes where they should be. They must have ALL fallen out after they sliced it, how could they not see that! The almond pastry I've received had NO almonds or icing! This wasn't a single error, as their case was filled with them made the same way and NO ONE working ever noticed (including mgr) 🙄. No wonder they went unsold! I ordered a sandwich requesting NO ONIONS, it was stated on receipt, the sandwich was LOADED with onions!!! I'm allergic!! Had I eaten it, I could have needed hospitalization!! Onions aren't an option in their allergies section! Coffee is constantly stale or dispensers are empty, same with creamer! I've had to toss it out way too often.
