Words can not express how lovely the staff at Chimney Rock is. The park is beautiful; the view and the waterfall is breath-taking, that's a given. But this review shouts out to David, the retail assistant manager, and Sarah. I live in FL and visited Chimney Rock in June. I bought a hat in the Cliff Dwellers Gift Shop at the end of my hike, which had a sentimental value to me. It was also my favorite hat among the dozens of hats that I own (I'm a hat person). Unfortunately, that hat got lost in a kayaking expedition in my home town in Florida. Having thought about that hat for quite some time, I reached out to the Cliff Dwellers Gift Shop, via email, asking if I would be able to pay twice the amount and shipping for the same exact hat. The assistant manager, David Price, responded promptly sending condolences to my beloved lost hat, saying they would send me another hat as a replacement, and gave me the store's number to call. So I called and was greeted by Sarah who has such a sweet tone in her voice, and one of the staffs there. I told her about the situation and David already mentioned my story to her! Although the one I bought back in June was no longer available, she went out of her way and gave me a description of similar hats they had in stock. I chose the closest one and asked how they would accept payment. Lo and behold, when David said replacement, I didn't expect them to ship out a hat to me at no cost! I can't describe how much this meant to me with everything going on in my life. Thank you David and Sarah, I will be back to...
Read moreI wanted to review this shop specifically because they allow pets/dogs. Only service animals are allowed in the elevator/sky lounge, so it was really nice to be able to step inside and shop with my dog, buy water, and find some souvenirs. I often travel alone with my dogs, and I don't have anyone to hold them/will not tie them up outside. So I'm always grateful when places allow in pets. The attendant was friendly and the prices were a bit high but the water was good, cold,...
Read moreThe Cliff Dwellers Gift Shop at Chimney Rock State Park was a nice sight after climbing what seemed like a million stairs. We hike to the Hickory Nut Falls before taking the stairs from the very bottom. When we made it to the gift shop area, we were in desperate need of a bathroom break and a place to get a cold drink. Cliff Dwellers filled that void. Got an awesome souvenir while...
