We've never had such a rude experience with the owner of a store before like we did here.. and this wasn't the first time. We were with some friends who came in from out of state, and we planned on buying a few things. I noticed the price on a few of the same items were marked different and let the woman know. She proceeded to tell me the "she" must have forgotten to change the price on that one (but there were several towards the back half of the store and outside). It was as if she only changed the price on a couple closest to the front of the store. I said we should still get it for the other price (which was $20.00 difference) she became very rude and said that she WAS going to give it to us for that price but not with MY attitude.. as we started to walk out of the store, telling her she had lost a good sale, she proceeded to get on her phone and call someone to complain about us. Then, she grabbed her cigarettes and said very loudly the some people should be glad she's going outside to smoke a cigarette. I guess that was some kind of threat... I've never met an owner with such low class and disrespect for her customers. We will make sure to pass this along to others on other sites as well. This is not the first time we've encountered her rudeness. We thought we would give it another chance, but trust me, we...

I'll start with the only good thing about this place, they have lots of cute knick knacks. Otherwise our experience wasn't good. We walked in & instead of being greeted with "hello" or "how are you", we heard, "Excuse me. You guys need to put a mask on". I have no issue with this recent mask mandate. My friends & I had literally just forgotten ours in the vehicle. However, one of the friends I was with has a medical condition along with a doctors note providing the reasoning & was willing to show it to the stores clerk. Though before we could say anything about showing them (even though we don't have to) the clerk then said, "I live right next door. I don't need you getting me sick. You need a mask." I understand the current panic and will gladly wear a mask. But there are some people who cannot and I do not appreciate the attitude we received over it the second we stepped into the shop. Especially not even being able to provide a full response without being talked over. I harbor no ill will towards anyone, I just wish we weren't spoken...

Hickory Nut Antiques = 2☆ Google = 1/2☆ I'm almost to level 9 rater and I feel Google manipulates these ratings.. Either - not loading all the pictures or just not allowing it to happen.. We got here about 10 minutes after 10 am.. the sign says they opened at 10am, but, nobody was around. This was a Tuesday Morning. We looked around the outside for 10 minutes waiting for somebody to come - nobody showed up.. Furthermore, the stuff that we did look at was what we thought was overpriced and was mostly junk, not antiques. I suppose if you're going by like we were and had nothing much to do then this is a place to stop in , otherwise they don't seem to keep a schedule. The place looks pretty run down and the things they had seemed quite overpriced on the outside of the store .. We left well after 10am and still nobody showed up for business.. No - no...

This place was an AWESOME surprise. We stopped because of the flashy metal work outside and the garden center. We left $150 poorer after buying Halloween and garden decor. I collect Jack Skellington stuff, so as soon as I walked in, this 2+ ft Jack piece was right in front of me. I'd like the store then and there. The place is very eclectic with a great mix of metal outdoor items, antiques (including old McDonald's toys of all things), farmhouse items, local soaps and honey...just so much stuff. And the rooms just kept on appearing after every turn. It was truly a great experience and I'm glad we stopped The prices were reasonable as well, so no complaints there.

Loved our site ❤. Thanks for giving us a choice of which site to stay on. And signing us in at the last min before our arrival.😊 I realize that some people makes it hard for those who are considerate..ex. so no drying towels in bedroom..bc some will throw them in toilet... awlful!! So bring your own hand towels.. but even if you pick up poop..they will still charge a pet fee..3 dollars a night per pet... may not be that much..but really? Guess these owners can place a tag on anything that what to. But still a very nice spot to camp at. Creek music was so soothing!. Best wishes toward the future.

I have heard that they are now open without a storefront. If you are local you can find them at the original location outside. I am just heartbroken for this community. I haven’t heard if this shop survived the storm but I am pretty sure it has not. I am hopeful that they will rebuild and I would love to lend a helping hand if needed. I love this shop. I stop by every year when I travel to North Carolina. They have the best variety or plants and flowers as well as great garden decorations.
