Food was good, but service was some of the worst I’ve seen. Let me start by saying I am a minority, so not sure if racial bias had something to do with the subpar service my family and I received. First we entered, no greeting, no “I’ll be right with you”, nothing. We waited for about 10 minutes, all three waiters walk right by us, see is with no menus, no drinks, not a single one of them acknowledge us. Then, one of them flips the “open” sign to “close” and starts taking down their flag. Finally, my husband asked her “are you guys not gonna be serving food anymore “, that’s when we finally get some menus and are told that they are out of a bunch of stuff. They take our order, the waitress comes back 5 minutes later and informs us that they are also out of hushpuppies and she can replace that with toasted bread. My husband asked if she could replace the hushpuppies with another item and she tells him that would be extra. We ended up ordering ribs which was one of the few things they were not out of. One of the waitresses approached us and apologized for the wait, saying that they were “super busy” and that they are usually not like that. Other than my family, there were two couples inside the restaurant, and three couples outside, qnd there were three waitresses. We finally received our order. The bbq sauce container is tiny for half rack of ribs. My husband runs out of bbq sauce, so he goes to get some more and the waitress copes an attitude with him and tells him that he needs to pay for the extra bbq sauce. My husband now has to explain to her that we ordered ribs and that we are out of sauce, and only then she tells him is ok to grab the bbq sauce for no extra charge. I would highly recommend you do NOT go to this place if you are looking for a pleasant...

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our meal here. The hostess was friendly and smiled as we entered the restaurant but after that, the service was downhill. The tables are so close together that I could hardly squeeze into my chair and I’m thin. Our server could not muster up a smile AT ALL. She seemed upset to be serving tables and annoyed to have paying customers. I understand the 4th of July holiday brings lots of ‘out of towners’ and the restaurant was completely full, however as a hospitality employee it’s prime time to bring positive energy to every table you serve.

The food…We ordered appetizers, fried pickles, and shashito peppers…they never arrived. Eventually our meal came out, and the Mac and cheese bowl was very bland. The cheese sauce, was clumpy and dry. It tasted like cornstarch was used to thicken it, and for a $16 dish, I felt completely ripped off. We asked to have it taken off the bill since my daughter only picked at it. We all tasted it and agreed, that Mac and cheese had little to zero actual cheese in it.

The brisket had good flavor, but the salad I ordered was lacking the vinaigrette listed with it on the menu. My husband did enjoy the carnivore platter, but the collard green side he wanted was all out and he ordered potato salad instead.

The hush puppies my oldest daughter got as a side were really good, but her tacos were too spicy and she is a spice fanatic!

Towards the end of our meal I asked the server to remove the appetizers we never received, she never apologized for the error, but did take the apps off the ticket in addition to the Mac and cheese bowl.

Her lack of hospitality and poor service really spoiled the entire meal for us. We always tip, and still tipped her, but she could’ve earned much more with a better attitude and...

We were so excited to try this place. Visited several timed during their Covid closure , but obviously they were closed (they closed out of an abundance of caution to protect employees and customers, which they should be commended for) (Our expectations were based on other reviews and we were so disappointed) I assure you this is an unbiased and unaffiated review. Our order wasn't correct, from even the drink order. A $14 mixed drink was incorrect., childrens drink orders wrong. Our 10 year old said, "Why doesnt she write our order down so she doesnt make mistakes?" We ordered 3 plates. 2 orders of sliders, and a pulled pork platter. One order of sliders was brought 20 minutes after the first. The sauce is on plates is served in cups with lids, not knowing which sauce it was we ask a waitress... who said, she did not know., we then ask for barbecue sauce and ketchup, she brought one cup of each for the entire table! The pasta salad was not even edible. Portions are small. Barbecue was mediocre at best and we love bbq. We ordered 2 orders of sliders (They do not have a childrens menu so 2 kids shared a sliders plate), 1 pulled pork plate, 1 mixed drink, 1 beer, 2 sprites for kids. For comparison purposes... (3 meals, 2 adults 2 kids) ....our bill was $86. *Just to note, we were offered another mixed drink on our next visit to compensate the drink mistake however, that will not happen. We wish them well, but, we will...

BEST SPONTANEOUS STOP EVER! My fiance and I were in Chimney Rock village, killing time before our wedding venue tour. We just happened to stroll by The Chimney Rock Smokehouse and decided to eat our lunch here. At first glance the site seemed simple and unimpressive however once walking in and taking a seat, in the seat yourself dining area, I was wowed. Nick the man behind the bar exuded friendliness and gave wonderful suggestions on food, beer, and tourist attractions. Being a fan of smoked food I excitedly ordered a smoked pork plate while my fiance ordered the tomato sandwich. Our food arrived quickly and upon taking my first bite I almost fell into a wonderful food coma. The flavor of the BBQ sauce over the smoked pulled pork exploded over in my mouth and the flavors continued to dance across my tongue as I ate. In minutes I had scarfed down my entire meal. Even something as simple as the fries stood out with exceptional flavor and perfection. When Nick told me that this spot had only been open two weeks I nearly laughed. How could a place as amazing and perfect as Chimney Rock Smokehouse exist without taking years to perfect? Well I say explosive flavor, friendly staff, and a wonderfully convient location are just a few reasons. 10/10 Family friendly. Live bands on Fridays. Good drink selection. Amazing food. Do NOT miss out on the experience. You will not regret it. I will be back for my bachelor party later this year.

We visited Thursday, around 6:20. While we though the prices were a "little high", what the heck. I ordered a pork plate with BBQ beans. I've attached a photo...for $15 that's all the food and especially BBQ I got, for $15! Compare the size of the spoon to the small pile of pork. After finishing that I was still hungry. The pork was delicious, just not enough for the price. Speaking of price, my wife ordered the 1/2 chicken. It was $18! We can get a whole rotisserie chicken for $5 at Ingles. She said it had no flavor and I tried and it didn't. The BBQ sauce was good so she saused it up. Never again. Our grandson got the shrimp sandwich and he loved it. We tried a shrimp and it was very good. The iced tea was perfect and service was good. However, $68 for a BBQ dinner with this small amount of food was disappointing. We were hoping to have good BBQ at a reasonable price. Good luck.

Not just bussin' but bussin' bussin' I looked at the reviews for everything on the street and decided to try out the Chimney Rock Smokehouse. Service was excellent - Margie catered to our desires in the 90 degree heat while we sat outside. Her recommendations were on point... ...now on to the food. Excellent. They say good food is the quickest way to a mans heart... if I was local I'd be courting the menu here at least once a week. I got the brisket and pulled pork tacos with the hush puppies. Brisket had fantastic flavor and seems to have been crisped up a bit for the taco. Pulled pork blows everything out of the water from where I live in SC - if you come here and are thinking that they would have boring, flavorless crock pot pulled pork then you would be mistaken. I haven't eaten at the other establishments nearby but it would be hard not to come here again next time I'm in town.
