While searching for a prom dress today, my niece exclaimed how much she hated dress shopping. It was hard to hear her say that. However, I could understand why she felt that way. Today we went to three stores before coming to Henri’s. The other stores had limited dress options in limited sizes. It was frustrating for her to try on the few available options each store had and leave each store empty handed. And although the staff at the other stores were “okay”, the stores were packed and we were, for the most part, left unassisted. While at the third store, we decided to try to make it to Henri’s before they closed. We knew we wouldn’t have much time to look but tried to make it there anyways.
When we arrived at Henri’s, the first staff member we encountered was Cary. He was so friendly while we checked in and told us to take our time, look around, and when my niece found a few dresses to come back to the center of the store to try them on. I wasn’t expecting him to be so welcoming and friendly considering they would be closing soon. And the phrase “take your time” really shocked me. I thought that maybe the store hours on Google were incorrect and that the store closed later than we thought. So I asked him if Google was correct meaning the store would actually be closing in 30 minutes. He confirmed that Henri’s would be closing in 30 minutes but was still welcoming and friendly. He told us we would be fine and to enjoy shopping. His smile and attitude were refreshing. I thanked him and told him that my niece hadn’t been having the best shopping experience today and how much we appreciated our interaction with him.
Henri’s had an awesome selection of dresses in an inclusive range of sizes. It didn’t take long for my niece to find a few dresses that she wanted to try on.
In the fitting area, we encountered Kayla. Kayla was also very friendly and welcoming. She was helpful, upbeat and smiling. She sincerely complimented my niece as she tried on dresses and assisted her when needed.
When my niece tried on her dresses, her whole countenance began to change. By the time she decided on a dress, she was happy and smiling and said how much she loved how she looked in the dress she chose.
Working with Cary and Kayla and Henri’s selection of dresses definitely shaped our shopping experience. And Henri’s was just as busy as the other 3 stores we visited. Yet, despite the store’s busyness, with Cary and Kayla, the customer service we received was still top notch. My niece left happy and smiling with a beautiful dress that she felt beautiful in! Thank you, Carey and Kayla! Well...
Read moreI really didn’t want to have to give three stars and to be honest i should give even less. My daughter’s wedding was May 11th and after receiving her gown back from Henri’s-which i will add was absolutely gorgeous and she was stunning in AFTER MANY ALTERATIONS! She was sized at Henri’s. My daughter is very petite, just a little over 100lbs and i only share that information because when she was sized for her gown-the gal which is no longer at Henri’s sized her as a size 8! We told her no that can’t be right and she said that with the different designers they size differently. We had her measure one more time and she again said size 8…..so at this point we’re going with her professional opinion. I mean when someone works in the bridal department and knows the gowns you definitely go with what they are saying. The dress took about 5 months to make which was completely fine BUT when we got it back it literally fell off of my daughter! At this point we have no time to waste. We take it to a WONDERFUL seamstress located on Lazelle Rd. When she saw my daughter in it all she could say was WOW-THEY DIDN’T EVEN COME CLOSE TO SIZING YOU CORRECTLY. She literally had to redesign the dress! Had to take 4 inches off both sides on the top of the gown, move the zipper and then fix the inside of the gown as well. Thankfully she was a very skilled seamstress that did an amazing job……UNLIKE THE GAL AT HENRI’S. Another addition that doesn’t have to do with the gown was the overall experience. Initially when my daughter booked this appointment she had a couple guests with her and the room where they set her up to have a wonderful bridal experience was great. Fast forward to 5 months later when we pick up the gown she was barely attended to at all, just thrown into a normal dressing room (she literally had both her grandmas, MOB and MOG and her aunt there to see her at this try on…..the experience was TERRIBLE!!!! After we waited in dressing room for awhile to get a workers attention because they didn’t even bring her the veil the enthusiasm of trying on her veil and gown was diminished by the service given (it was honestly quite sad to witness especially as the MOB). This experience was supposed to be fun and joyful-THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! I would say if you are looking for customer service-go elsewhere!!! Henri’s does have gorgeous expensive gowns, just PLAN ON spending DOUBLE the amount like we did to have the gown re-made! The overall review….save your money and...
Read moreI had the worst experience I have ever had at a store here and would not recommend to ANYONE. For starters, most the dresses were damaged to some degree, either the beading was messed up or the zippers were torn. If all your dresses are $500 plus they should be in perfect condition. So from the start we knew if we did like anything we would have to order it online. The customer service was awful, no one helped us with sizing or anything of that nature.
It was like pulling teeth for a fitting room. We were finally given one in the back of the fitting room area (no other customers were around, keep this in mind) We had given some of the dresses that didn’t work for us to our consultant. I was helping my friend put her dress on when my friend noticed someone trying to peek under the curtain, Like I stated earlier, there were no parents or other customers around our fitting room so it wasn’t someone else on accident. All of a sudden our dressing room is aggressively pushed open. me and my friend ARE NOT CLOTHED! I am in my bra and underwear and My friend is completely topless. It was the manager (her name was Holly im pretty sure, she had short dark hair and was in her 50s) When she sees us completely naked and obviously pretty startled my friend grabbed a dress to cover herself, and I turned trying to cover myself is shock. She doesn’t apologize like a normal person she starts yelling at us to hand her the hanger to one of those dresses the other consultant had grabbed. and demanding my friend to hand her the dress that is covering her. We were both mortified and in shock. It didn’t hit us till afterwards how weird it was. After the dress she begins scolding us telling us not to let the dresses hit the ground and that we need Be careful with them. (All the dresses were hung up besides one that had fell) SHE NEVER KNOCKED! It is insane that you operate a business like this And think that’s okay, especially when we are both minors and she’s a grown woman. As soon as we left, we tried to call for the corporate phone number or just someone higher up to report this to you because that is not right there was no answer to the phone. We called five times even though when we left five minutes prior, there was somebody sitting at the desk doing nothing. This is no way to operate a business and is disgusting. I would urge anyone not to shop here and to not...
