Most of the staff are friendly and very willing to help you. I am still figuring out the system and layout of the store. But once I do, I am sure my shopping experience will be less exhausting...wear good shoes because you will do a fare amount of walking and the floors are concrete. Okay now the bad...the restaurant was under-staffed and the self-serve food items were not very fresh or restocked, especially the salad items. The restaurant cashier seemed discouraged. The food is priced nicely though and nice offerings for children. More bad...check the receipt before leaving the store because getting the $19.99 I was over charged has become a marathon. And since I live 2 hours from the nearest IKEA, I have no choice but to handle it telephonically. Another note of caution, the phone number on the receipt and on their website is a central IKEA number and not the number for the store you make your purchases. So I called the "888" number, reported the mistake, was given a case number, and then I was told that someone from the Columbus store would call me. Not sure why this extra step, but okay. I was contacted the very next day. Unfortunately I was not home when the call came in and was left to decipher the fast-spoken, unclear message "Monica" left for me. I had to listen to it no less than 6 times and was still unable to determine the phone number's area code and extension. I had to do an extensive internate search for the number because, again, it's not available on their website. Thank goodness for Yelp. However, no luck in using the staff directory since "Monica" didn't feel it necessay to leave her last name. Ugh! What a waste of my time...and all due to a careless cashier. I will update my review when or if I get...
Read moreOne of the great things about shopping at Ikea is eating at Ikea. You can eat cafeteria style meals that taste like home cooked comfort food. My favorite thing there is the meat balls with mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed veggies, and their signature lingonberry sauce. Our family loves this lingonberry sauce. This is also one of the only places we can buy it. The great thing about Ikea is when you like what you eat, you can go and buy most of it on the grocery side of the store. So while we are here we stock up on this lingonberry jam and lingonberry juice concentrate as well. If you join as an Ikea member you will get a membership card. Using this card will get you free things as well. We always use it to get our free coffee drink. For coffee you also have a selection at their machines for espresso, Americano, or capachino. You can also buy their coffee beans, ground or whole at the grocery part. The card also allows you to get special meal deals. This last visit we got a free chocolate gooey cake with a meatball meal. In past visits sometimes or meal head been free with furniture purchases. And don't forget dessert. Their chocolate cake is great, the chocolate gooey cake is good, then they have some signiture sweetish desserts, a daim cake and a marzipan covered cream cake. Another good meal I've tried is their veggies balls which comes with quinoa, special savory sauce and veggies. They also have good sandwiches and wraps, marinated salmon...
Read moreThis is a review of the cafe on the first floor, not the restaurant on the second floor. For the price you are paying, it’s a good deal. $5 Swedish meatball combo that includes mashed potatoes and cranberries, $1 hot dogs with ketchup and mustard. They have $1.75 pizza slices but for $8 you get the whole pie. Just know that the meatballs are not-regular sized, they are miniature so would recommend ordering multiple menu items if you’re really hungry. The hot dogs and pizza are served fast since they’re already ready, but the meatballs take a little longer since the combo has to be built. The service was a little slow with only 2 folks working Saturday at noon, but they’re super friendly and thorough in making sure each order is correct. I honestly loved the fast casual environment and value prices, and...
