Duluth Trading Company — Local services in Columbus

It was a nightmare. The website would not let me log in. Called customer service and they were unable to correct problem. The customer service person ordered 5 items for me. All five showed to be in stock. Got a tracking number for entire shipment. Then two days later a new email, only 4 items would ship. The lone item would come later . Then got an email that the four items would arrive today! I got a package it did not have 4 items. It had one item, the one not in stock that was coming later. Then I get another email saying that my four items were delivered today. NOT TRUE!. Just the one lone item. Which was not available arrived. Called Duluth again. Now my order will come in three separate shipments. They could not give me a tracking number. By their own admission they system was not working the way it should. The clothing is usually pretty good but the total cluster I've been dealing with has put me off ever ordering from Duluth again. Don't know if this is the store but the guy I talked with was from Ohio. Duluth needs to know your shipping department is/was a horrible experience. Great store and so far great products. My only issue I have had when visiting the store is that they run promotions and the sales staff is neither helpful nor informed on the promotions or discounts. Ex: “Men’s pants are 20-50% off.” - if you ask what a discount is for a specific style you will get no help, and the store is absent of any signage that would be helpful. It’s an easy fix if they care to do so. just order online instead of in store if this issue arises.

Sept 2018 update. After 2 more recent experiences in store, I have been blown away by the customer service I received. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable and willing to support your Duluth experiences both in store and online. Staff is informed on the products, and any applicable sales/promotions. Another great aspect of this improved customer service is that you are not stalked or bombarded at every turn. Staff is ready willing and able but gives you enough space to browse at your leisure.

I travel for work and I am visiting each Duluth location that I come across.So far I have been to all of the Illinois, Ohio, Texas stores. I can honestly say that customer service is top notch and the prices are more then reasonable for the excellent quality of merchandise that you will find here. However I am concerned with the lack luster traditional appearance that most of your new stores have. I understand that some communities do don’t want the barn look however Duluth is selling it’s soul to put locations in these communities. Once you start giving up the identity and image that you have created its a slippery slope to what you will do next. I can honestly say that I have been a long time customer and that even with the high quality of product today it is no where near the quality of product that use to be carried.
