I was excited to see this Lady Jane's opening up down the street from me. I have been to a handful of places here in Columbus to try and find the right stylist or just place where I feel comfortable letting them cut my hair. It got to the point where I just bought clippers and would buzz my hair. I listen to 97.1 FM a lot and one of my favorite shows to listen to is Carpenter and Rothman. Rothman is always doing ads for Lady Jane's on the air so I decided to give it a try once I found out there was going to be one near me. I have been to Sportsclips, so I was kind of expecting not to be impressed because I hate Sportsclips, but from the first day I walked into that shop I knew it would be different. I have had 3 different stylist cut my hair there and I had a positive experience each time and loved the haircut. Everyone is always nice when you walk in and they all greet you and make you feel welcome. People who complain of waiting are lost in the sauce if they think they can just walk in and expect to be in a chair within 5-10 minutes, it isn't happening, be realistic. I have never had an issue there with getting into a chair, both back when I didn't schedule appointments and definitely not after I started to schedule them. My stylist up there is Amanda and let me tell you, she is great. She holds a great conversation while cutting your hair and keeps you involved in the process. Knowing what you like out of haircut is key to a good one and she lets you tell her what you like and she does her thing. The vibe in the shop is always positive and it honestly feels like hanging out with friends up there. I have got a haircut right at open, right at close, middle of the day, also when they are super busy and when they aren't, each time I go it's a good experience. They take care of you up there and I can most certainly say that for Amanda. I plan on going to this location for the foreseeable future. Thanks gals, for being you and for being awesome! Keep up all...
Read moreI went to this Lady Jane's today. This was my first time at a Lady Jane's. I checked it on the computer and I clicked first available stylist. Not really expecting who to pick. I should have read the reviews before coming here in hindsight. I got Courtney. Her area was pretty dirty. It took her 2 mins to clean it up. She had to clean off her chair and smock. I told her what kind of haircut I wanted and then I wanted a shampoo afterwards. So basically the Precision Haircut they offer. She was pretty rough with my haircut and head while trimming my hair. Within 2-3 mins of trimming my hair, her trim dies on her, so she has to plug it in to keep using it. I asked for no side burns. After how rough she was with my head trimming my hair, I was worried, I would have nick's around my ears. She never gave me the neck lather for the neck shave that is included in the Precision haircut, nor did she give me the Hot Towel during the Shampoo. The shampoo only took like 3 mins tops. I felt like it was rushed. One of the worst things was she reeked of cigarette smoke. Like she literally came in from just smoking like 5 cigarettes. It was very strong.
The overall time I was in there from check in, haircut, shampoo, and paid was less than 15-20 mins. I felt like it was rushed the whole time. Courtney even asked me when paying, how much I wanted to put on my card. I told her $25, the price of the haircut. She seemed like she got an attitude when I didn't say anything more than that. I didn't even leave a tip because I didn't feel like a tip was deserved. If I go back, I will request...
Read moreI usually go to the LJ in Grandview. This was a little closer to me today. I saw Courtney (not the blonde, darker hair).Got right in, surprisingly. When I sat down I noticed how dirty her area was. I should’ve left then. I then get the smock put on me, and it was covered in someone else’s hair. Ewww!!
Courtney then proceeds to ask the regular questions. Unfortunately, very little did sue actually listen to. Pretty sure she was hung over because this girl just didn’t care. As she finishes up, I already know the atrocity I’m gonna see once my hair dries. She asks if I want shampoo and a warm towel. I opted out of both because I didn’t want to be there any longer. No tip today, and I will normally tip people very well.
I go sit in my truck for a few mins to see the results after it’s dry, and it’s terrible. I walk back in, and tell her I need my money back or for someone else to fix it. Christina stepped up. Unfortunately, she couldn’t get it the way I wanted it - since Courtney trashed it before. However, after 3 people today that she’s had to fix - it was only 12pm - she dis the best she could.
As I’m sitting here in the parking lot, I’d consider going back to see Christina. However, if this franchise is smart, they will let Courtney (not the manager, Courtney) go. She doesn’t care and her area is...
