I am not usually a person that writes reviews but I feel as though Schomburg’s jeweler truly deserves one. We had a loose stone and wanted to get it placed in a band with additional diamonds added to the set. We had heard the Schomburg’s was one of the best in town and decided on their service. Let me start off with we were steered completely wrong! First, we went in and they seemed very preoccupied and added little assistance to the process. We still went with them and had the ring plan developed. The ring was quoted at $1,800 with a little wiggle room if needed. It took weeks of horrible communication on the progress of the ring or pictures to see how it was turning out. Weeks passed and the communication grew worse, then about two months later, the ring was completed. It turns out that the quote was off, only by an additional $1400. Ok a little higher than expected but the ring looked great and we could look past the $3200 price tag if the ring was quality. Well, my wife is very gentle on her rings and still the ring spills diamonds like a ring out of a gumball machine. Actually, I think the gumball ring might be nicer quality. So, just to add a little more to Schomburg’s amazing quality we went and had it appraised for insurance purposes, which we know they usually appraise a little higher. Well, to our delight the ring appraised at $1600. Wow that quality work didn’t even meet the price tag that Schomburger’s had placed on building the whole ring and we included the main stone. In conclusion if you like subpar quality even worse customer service you have found the right place. Thanks again Schomburg’s...

Schomburg's told me they couldn't even get the back of the watch open, until I told them how to do it. And then, after looking at it, was told that it takes a special lithium battery that they didn't have, but would have to order, and it would take a week to get it, then charge me for all that. Told me I'd be better off mailing the watch back to the manufacturer and ask them for a battery replacement! Never in my life have I ever done that for a simple battery swap out on a watch I've owned. "Sorry we can't do anything to help you." Wow!!!! Shouldn't be surprised. This was the 2nd watch shop in Columbus that couldn't replace a watch battery. I know what you all might be thinking...just go to the mall. I hate going to the mall which is why I initially thought to seek out a store that does watch battery replacements. Happened that I was taking a friend to the airport the next day, and I found a store close by the airport that replaced my battery in 10 minutes. Just goes to show how inept people/businesses are in Columbus, GA, and Schomburg's is...
Read moreTook some items for repair, a diamond bracelet with a broken link and a charm bracelet to have charms soldered on it. Ask they just do the work and call us when it's done, as we trusted them. 3 weeks later haven't heard from them, so I called to inquire. Was told they were "waiting to call and give us an "estimate " for the work". When I asked the delay, I was put on hold and then disconnected. So I called back and got a recording that "this number isn't accepting calls from you"! When I went to reclaim my items, the diamond bracelet had been repaired, but a diamond was missing. They claim to have a recording of me bringing in the bracelet showing it missing a diamond, but I haven't seen this. Completely unprofessional and exceedingly poor customer service. One of the charms they never put on my bracelet...
