Shopped Target for maybe the 3rd time in my life today. I don't live near a Target. But today I decided to make the trip to Columbus to shop for my great Niece who registered at Target for her Baby Shower. After the drive down I needed to use the ladies room before I started shopping. As I opened the door to the ladies room I quickly re-accessed my need to go.... The floor around the over flowing trash can had paper towels strong around the floor. The stall doors were all dirty each stall was dirty itself with toilet paper all over the floor. This was not at all impressive. As I shop the store I was pleased with the organization of the store. Everything was clearly marked and there seem to be a good selection. While shopping in the baby department I noticed an ad that said "Spend $75 on Baby Items receive a $15 gift card.". This ad had information on scanning the ad with my phone, and info on downloading the Target app. This inspired me to spend more on baby items. In fact other than $30 in wrapping supplies a card and a $30 humidifier for the baby's room, I spent $209... As I arrived to the checkout area, only ONE lane was open, Friday 5pm..... The lady in front of me had been shopping in the baby area as well and had asked the clerk for the same special. The clerk used what I am assuming is a Target ad, then sat it aside. As I walked up to the cashier when it was my turn, I mentioned that I would be needing to use that ad as well because I wanted the same special. I was asked if I had a coupon, I did not. I then received a slight lecture on how "you guys needs to download the coupon". I then ask the cashier how I would go about doing that and she helped me make it happen on my phone. I was only slightly embarrassed by that lecture. After she scanned my coupon off my phone she stated that the discount would not apply. Apparently I didn't buy the correct items. There was no empathy. There was a description read that clearly stated I did not buy the diapers or food or the few other Baby Items that did qualify. Quietly, with a clearly frustrated frown, I loaded my items into my cart and completed my transaction ... then went on my way. No words were spoken by the cashier, no thank you for coming, no have a good day...... I doubt I return to a Target. It's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve shopped many at this Target since I work at Polaris Mall and I also donāt live too far. Today was probably the most uncomfortable experience Iāve had. While my roommate and I were shopping for bed sheets and the like, the LP/security decides that heās going to hound us as weāre shopping in electronics. He wasnāt very discreet at the fact that he was watching us. And we bought everything we had in our carts. Sure, we might not dress as nice as folks in Polaris and the surrounding area, but that is really no reason to discriminate or assume that weāre up to no good. Iām a store manager, I get trying to deter theft but he was the only one that asked me for help while I was in electronics (no associates did) so I thought that was odd(classic theft deter tactic, let them know you see them). He proceeded to circle electronics watching my roommate and I as if weāre getting ready to stuff things down our pants or something. We werenāt wearing baggy clothes so I donāt know why we were being targeted so hard. He continued to watch us all the way to checkout and It made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I called their HR department and explained everything. I donāt even want anything from them but Iāve just never felt that sort of vibe at any Target and really put a damper on my day. Never have I felt so profiled and unwelcome to be shopping in a store just like everyone else. I wasnāt up to any sketchy behavior or anything to even warrant LP guys hounding behavior. I really hope that they address this going forward not to be so invasive when people are trying to shop. By far the worst experience Iāve ever had while...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store really just depends on the time of day you go. The customer service tends to be better in the evening/afternoon than in the morning. They do have some really good and accommodating and helpful employees here occasionally.. But some of the employees are absolutely clueless on their return policy & price match policy. Keep in mind this is a good part of town too, minus numerous car jackings in the mall across the street Leaving a 1 star review bc of an absolutely terrible and horrendous "Karen" moment on the part of the employees at the front desk this morning. I have literally 5 different coupons and target circle coupons running right now on my accounts, so to save $25 I figured I'd just rebuy some items & adjust the price that way... The one coupon wouldn't work despite not being listed as an exclusion on the coupon. Was told an item wasn't a toy even though it comes up as a toy on the receipt.. Then was yelled at by a team lead who escalated the situation and witnessed a manager literally just do absolutely nothing and allow his staff to walk all over any semblance of professionalism. Being accused of wanting to make a fraudulent return on items I hadn't even bought yet and already using the coupon was just the icing on the cake. Thankfully target customer service made the...
