So, 1st off, the 2 young adults working, Jerry and the young girl who's arm was tattooed, but name I missed were super great.
The food was AWESOME.
The service was a bit wonky I think bc mothers day and they had shifted from buffet, which I can't eat anyway, too menu service.
Thank you to the CHEF who didn't have to but made us an incredible DOSA... if I never have another one again, this one was THE ONE...YUM!
Then there were multiple folks involved in our ordering and running food so some came to us, albeit slowly, some of ours went to other tables where those patrons were confused and then other stuff we had to ask about more than once.
Eventually the dish that got to the wrong table made it to us in a to go container. With the fresh bread we didn't have to eat until late in our meal and some other leftovers, I'm a happy girl...
My kids pulled this day together for me and indian is one of my VERY FAVORITE FOODS.
We had Dosa Channa masala Shrimp Curry
All very good
Then the Naan came, so I had some, but was already FULL.
Then we inquired about the tandoori dish that they probably ended up having to comp for the neighboring table who were confused about it showing up mere seconds after they ordered and it not being quite right...we didn't realize this part till later tho while waiting for ours. Then ours was fresh made and to go since we'd already paid the check.
The mango Lassi was yummy too.
To the young gal near tears who had the guy really upset about how they had previously interacted, I'm sorry y'all had that experience, tho no clue what happened I'll.
To the guy who had to deal with all the rest of the chaos, I'll still be back, but I'll order early and succinctly with less questions.
Half the menu was blessedly gluten free for my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here multiple times and I have to give 2 stars. to start this place has amazing food, I would not trade the food for anything. But the service at this place is very terrible. I've found myself coming back over and over and over due to the food being delicious. But Everytime I have come here (which is dozens of times over the years), I am always frustrated with my visit because of the service. My last visit with my girlfriend, was the final straw. There was only about 10 people in the restaurant, and we were serviced fairly quickly, but once the drinks arrived, it was followed shortly by our appetizer, so naturally we would drink our drinks, and we sat there with both empty glasses near tables edge for about 5 minutes, got a refill. and about 5 minutes or so later we are out again (due to spicy appetizer), and the waiter looked at our table several times, but never came over. when we were done with our appetizer, I tidied up the table and stacked everything neatly onto a pile. for the waiter to pick up. Again, our drinks were empty and on the tables edge again. THE WAITER CAME BY AND TOOK OUR APPETIZER TRASH, BUT COMPLETELY IGNORED OUR EMPTY GLASSES SITTING THERE FOR 10 MINUTES!!! It wasn't until the friendly girl brought our food, and forced our waiter to fill our drinks, that we got a refill. This is only one story of bad service here when I have multiple, from the same guy making rude faces and looks when I ask for simple thing, like extra rice, or to go boxes (which I always ask friendly, I cannot stand a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIndian food in Columbus better than what you get in India. The staff is amazing - extremely friendly and nice. Eating buffet and do not feel like eating rotis - just tell them and they will prepare a nice garlic naan for you. This is the level of service they provide. Food - I have had lunch, evening snacks and dinner here and below is an individual review of the three: Lunch - Always had buffet. Varieties right from vegetarian to non vegetarian dishes. Everything cooked to perfection. Buffet menu changes slightly everyday. Do not miss out on the desserts ever. Price is cheaper than the price you would pay for such a buffet in India. Evening snacks: Pakoras and Tea - Indian style in the evening - extremely refreshing. I am not sure if it was available in the menu but I requested and got it. Dinner: Ordered from the menu. All main dishes have three levels of spiciness. The spiciest curry here is as good as a mild spiced curry in India. Same like lunch, every dish is cooked to perfection. Main course come with a side (Rice - I am specifically mentioning this because this is not the case in India) and is extremely filling.
If you are a first timer here, try Gulab Jamun - a dessert. I have not had such good Gulab Jamuns in India.
During my month long stay in Columbus, I visited this restaurant almost five times a week and am sure to eat here during my next...
