As someone who swings by this grocery store nearly every day, I’ve got a soft spot for it, but there are some nagging issues that really need addressing before I can sing its praises fully. First off, the hotbar food, while boasting a solid variety, has been disappointing lately. The sauces dry out and crust over because the food sits out too long without being refreshed, yet they still charge a hefty $8.99 per pound for what often feels like subpar quality. It’s frustrating to pay premium prices for something that’s clearly not at its best. Then there’s the pricing on certain items—take the 6-pack of Pepsi, for example, priced at over $8 when the going rate elsewhere is around $4.35. Even their “buy 2, get 1 free” deal doesn’t make it feel like a bargain, and this isn’t just a one-off; plenty of other items follow this overpriced trend, so I’d urge shoppers to compare prices with other stores. Another sore spot is the stocking—or lack thereof. I’ve pointed out empty shelves to staff, only to see them rearrange other items to fill the gaps instead of restocking what’s missing. It feels like they’re dodging the issue rather than fixing it. On the brighter side, I can’t complain about the store’s cleanliness—it’s always spotless and well-organized, making it a breeze to navigate even during busy hours. The carts are another plus; they’re always parked just a short walk from the parking lot, and the staff does a great job keeping them tidy and ready to use. The cashiers are the cherry on top—always friendly, quick with a smile, and happy to chat, which makes checking out a genuinely pleasant experience. If the store could tackle the hotbar quality, rein in those inflated prices, and get serious about restocking, it’d easily become my go-to spot without any...
Read morePoor management with a irresponsible manager! The only employee wearing a mask was the pharmacist! All employees including the people working behind counters preparing food, people stocking, checkout people, people bagging groceries and manager. Thru out the store you hear announced "all employees and customers are required to wear mask". I ask to speak to the manager. Manager Amy Wingard came up to me without mask like everyone else! I ask why no employee in the store was not wearing a mask especially with the announcement that all employees and customers were required to wear a mask? I was shocked with her answer considering I know the company policy says they are required to wear a mask. Her answer in a smart a$$ voice "the announcement says only while shopping were the employees required to wear a mask! " In other words she twisted the words around to suit what she wanted. I told her that did not make any sense! So in other words according to her, manager Amy Wingard, customers are required to wear a mask but employees are not required to wear a mask unless they are shopping there! So customers are to protect the employees by wearing a mask but the employees are not wearing a mask to protect the customers! Seriously! She has actually told her employees they don't have to wear a mask even though it is corporate required! Because of her making her own irresponsible rules I feel that myself and my husband, that is a heart patient, that I try to protect by not taking anything home to him were placed in jeopardy! I won't be back to this store, it has really gone downhill! I will shop Macon Rd Winn Dixie from now on , it it much nicer, cleaner, good friendly management and staff and all...
Read moreWinn-Dixie in Columbus, GA is one of the best grocery stores in town, hands down. Every time I shop here, I’m impressed by how clean and well-maintained the store is. One of my favorite features is the hot bar. It’s always well-stocked with fresh, hot food that tastes homemade. Whether you’re grabbing lunch on the go or something quick for dinner, it’s a convenient and tasty option.
The produce section is another highlight. Everything looks fresh and is well organized, with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. It’s easy to tell that the staff takes pride in keeping it well-stocked and looking great.
Winn-Dixie also offers great prices and weekly deals, especially if you use their rewards program. You can really stretch your grocery budget here without sacrificing quality.
Checkout is fast and efficient, with friendly associates who are always ready to help. Even during busier times, lines move quickly, and you leave feeling taken care of.
