My boyfriend and I were at this location yesterday around 3:30 in the afternoon. We took our time waking through the store. After I had taken a phone call, a lady began following us throughout the store. We had products in our hands to purchase, I set mine down to handle the situation on the phone. The lady continued to watch us, pretending to straighten up the clothing racks and began announcing to check all aisles and had called for security. I had walked around putting my $3.99 cat toy and $2.00 thing of tacs down periodically to check my phone. The lady proceeded to follow me as I was on the phone having a conversation and clearly upset. Not only did she follow me from the toys section, to the household products. She also went back and followed my boyfriend who had a $2 key chain in his hands. Apparently him walking around the store to give me space was a wrong thing and made him look suspicious. He reached in his pockets not to steal, but to readjust his vape, so it would not set off or leak through. Not only did she follow him, she also was on her personal phone saying things such as, “I need police over here..”, “these two aren’t the sharpest..” and drove him to walk to the front of the store to purchase the $2 item. I went up and purchased my $5.99 total, the lady continued to stare at us. When we walked to our car, she had the audacity to follow us outside and take a picture of us and the car. Now we did not do anything wrong whatsoever. The utter disrespect we had received was infuriating.. Anyone in their right mind would’ve noticed that the person on the phone was clearly upset and respectively put their products down to show we were not stealing. My boyfriend was giving me space to deal with my phone call, and your employee decided to follow us around, making us feel like criminals. We are utterly disappointed and annoyed with this situation. Read moreRecently the store Manager was very helpful. I had a mop I had purchased several months ago and I finally opened it and found that I could not move the ringer mechanism. I did not have a receipt but the product had a label that was from Ocean State Job Lots. She looked up my name from my rewards card and refunded my money. I found a different mop during this visit and that money she refunded, helped me pay for another style mop. I shop here often and the prices and sales are so great. I always receive excellent customer service and having the rewards card is great. I also like that they help and give back to people. Last year I bought a winter coat for a Veteran and they give you a gift card that reimburses you for your purchase of the coat. So you are helping someone and Ocean State Job Lots is paying you back so you spend nothing really. This is my go to store for so many items and it's just a fun place to shop because of the huge variety of everything! Keep it up and thank you for caring...
Read moreNot impressed with the management at this location. Purchased an air mattress only to discover the box contained a very used air mattress of a different brand than what the box claimed. Even at the register during the purchase, the SKU # was not in the system. A manager had to look it up. The price ($19.99) alone should have raised a red flag to them. The unusual taping around the box should have also been a clue. Nonetheless I was deeply concerned as an customer from out of State. Good thing I had not planned to take it home with me. A return would have been impossible. Management treated me like I was in the wrong one from the very start. Poor customer service. They even asked why I didn't return it the same day. I explained it was after 8pm and their website claimed holiday hours closing was 8pm. The manager insisted it was 11pm, as if I should have known. As an out of State customer, it wasn't my fault their website gave false information. I won't go back...
