This was the most odd and discriminatory experience I have ever been involved in. My lady friends and I walked into Kate Spade for a specific wallet my friend wanted to purchase. 5 minutes into our visit, management began acting suspicious. I physically saw one of the staff members walk to the back to alarm other staff members to "watch us" as if we had the intentions on stealing. I quickly alarmed my friends that we were being watched for some odd reason. Keep in mind we have not been inside of the store for ten minutes at this point. Shortly after, about three staff members quickly approached us repeatedly asking if we needed help. The store was quite packed so there was NO reason all three of them needed to bombard us with questions. After we responded "no, we are fine", two security guards come RUNNING inside of the store. One guard says "hey is there an issue? You asked for us to come immediately". The staff of Kate Spade (knowing they were wrong about us) tells security "oh we just needed a walk around". Once the security guard see's there isn't an issue, my friends and I decide to leave. As we're walking out we over hear the guard tell the staff of Kate Spade "you all need to stop discriminating people".
My friends purchase things from this store often so I'm at a lost for words at what just occurred. Needless to say, we left without purchasing anything nor will we EVER be purchasing anything from this store again. I despise making things a race issue but I have NEVER felt more embarrassed and disrespected. Three blacks walk into a store and the first assumption made is that we plan to embezzle items? It's tough placing my faith in humanity when after all of these years there are still staff members who think like those at this store. A seemingly white (possibly Hispanic) man named Hector was the staff member I watched tell his coworker's to "watch us". Also Chrisna (spelling), an Indian lady, was apparently the manager and she was just as responsible for the harassment. There was another white lady whom Hector told to watch us but I'm not sure what her name was. There was an Asian lady working there as well but she did no harm. It shameful that my friends and I will have to take our business elsewhere. Next time a paying customer enters your store, evaluate them fairly. It only takes ONE employee to ask a customer if they need assistance. Hector, Chrisna and the other white lady are all embarrassments to that company and to their...
Read moreI bought my first bag here last week and love it! It was a little awkward because while I was looking at some bags, one salesperson asked if I needed anything, and we said we were good. She said, "My name is _. If you need anything, let me know." Then she disappeared. When I found a bag, I noticed it had a flaw, we couldn't find our salesperson, so we asked another salesperson if there was another one in the back we could get. She gladly helped us and gathered a couple of them to bring out. When we chose one, we went to check out and found the first salesperson ringing out everyone along with another guy. We checked out with the guy, and he asked if anyone helped, we gave the name for the second salesperson. Meanwhile, the first salesperson looked over to the screen and noticed it wasn't her name that had helped us. We felt bad, but it was the second salesperson that helped more than the first one, no fault of her own, just kinda how it happened. Anyway, it was really awkward, especially as the first salesperson walked to the second sales person as we were leaving.... the poor second salesperson had no clue about the situation, and I'm sure she got an earful about...
Read moreI have possibly the worst experience here and I'm pretty sure I'm not spending my money in Kate Spade anymore after this I've spent over $300 in the last week on gifts for the holidays and i went into the store to purchase a specific bag bundle. The employee Ryann H. Was able to order it online however using a random account and fake address just to pull up the promo. Then when they said they could order it online they didn't change the address nor confirm mine to change it might i add and sent my bag to another state. Over 30 minutes was spent trying to fix their mistake that i just ended up cancelling the order completely. All i wanted was this bag and i didn't even get it because the whole hassle i ent through turned me completely off from buying from Kate Spade anymore. Furious and exhausted is an understatement. I would like to add that the store lead was very nice and apologized for her employees mistake but the employee who made the mistake (Ryann H.) Did...
