I love the store itself and have always had a good experience however I recently had my first bad salon experience at this location. I had my hair bleached for the first time by Aaliyah on 11/13/21 and expected it to cause some damage to my hair but I did not expect it to be as bad as it was. It took a couple of days for me to fully realize just how over-processed my hair was. It has been over a month since my appointment and I am still dealing with and spending a lot of money trying to undo the extreme damage that was caused. I went into the salon wanting to come out with a dark red color and a trim to get rid of any dead ends. After having my hair done here not only was my previously healthy hair left feeling mushy, stretchy, and completely unrecognizable but she attempted to cover up her mistake by chopping 4-6 inches off of it without telling me and also added layers which I did not ask for. My hair was one length to about the middle of my chest and now my shortest layer is above my jaw bone and completely uneven. I am typically not very picky but I cannot believe that a person would do this without even saying anything to prepare me. This was my first time having my hair bleached so I did not know how long this process would typically take but after talking to other people who are more familiar with the process I learned that 7.5 hours was far beyond how long this process should normally take. I spent $210 on the process itself and that doesnāt include the $50 tip that I gave to Aaliyah before realizing how badly she destroyed my hair. I have also spent hundreds of dollars on olaplex products since which has saved the choppy, uneven hair that I have left. I have not worn my hair down since this experience because the cut is so uneven and I am doing my best not to apply heat to avoid anymore damage. I did dye my hair back to its original color after using olaplex for a few weeks because I also did not get the color that I wanted and it was spotty and uneven as well. I had a professional help me with this and decided to do this because everything about my hair from the length, color and texture had been changed in the worst way and I just wanted something about it to be back to normal and unfortunately the only thing that I could do at this point was get the color back. The texture is slowly improving thanks to olaplex products. I am sure it will take at least a year for the length to get to a point where I am comfortable leaving it down again. I understand that realizing that you ruined someoneās hair is probably an uncomfortable thing to admit, but I am still in shock that as someone who was supposed to be a professional, Aaliyah chose to allow me to leave the salon without preparing me for how damaged and unmanageable my hair had become and I also cannot believe that I spent $260 for this result and have continued spending money attempting to undo the damage that was done.
Update: I am still uncomfortable leaving my hair down as it is still incredibly uneven especially on the left side and not enough time has passed for it to grow out. Unfortunately my hair grows slow so I will likely being dealing with the consequences of having my hair done at this location for a while. To make things worse, after going back and forth with customer service, they chose to compensate me by giving me a $25 gift card to their store which was a huge slap in the face after being a repeat customer and credit card holder of thereās for years without any issues prior to this experience. $260 for a service that you couldnāt have paid me to have done if I had known what the result would be and over $1000 spent on olaplex products since then trying to undo this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointed and Discriminated Against" Iāve been a loyal Ulta customer for years, but my recent experience left me feeling deeply uncomfortable and disappointed. I visited the store for a simple shopping trip, but was shocked at the way I was treated. One of the employees was Alivia and I donāt know the other employees names but it wasnāt just her it was all of them.
As soon as I walked in, the staff seemed to act differently toward me compared to other customersāspecifically, they were dismissive, avoided eye contact, and acted like I didnāt belong. When I asked for help, the employee I approached barely acknowledged me and seemed far more attentive to the white customers around me. It was clear that the level of customer service I received was nowhere near the same as others.
I understand that businesses are made up of individuals, but this kind of treatment is unacceptable and feels like racial discrimination. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, and I left the store feeling unwelcome and disrespected.
Iāve always loved Ultaās product selection, but after this experience, Iām reconsidering where I spend my money. No one should ever feel inferior or unworthy because of the color of their skin. I sincerely hope Ulta takes this issue seriously and works on better training their staff to treat all customers equally,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited the Ulta in Boardman, OH on September 21, 2024.Ā I had several gift cards that I usedĀ and my balance due was $22.41.Ā I put in my visa to pay for the remaining balance.Ā The computers froze and when it came back on, the clerk asked me reinsert my card for payment, which I did prior to the computers freezing.
Upon further investigation, my card was charged $22.41 twice.Ā See attached.Ā I called he store and a manager told me to come in and they would call with me there.Ā I am 30 minutes away.Ā I went in the the manager and assistant manager gave me the number to call guest services and were useless in helping me.
I called the number I was given on September 30th to rectify the situation.Ā They told me to wait 3-10 days to see if it would clear off the charge.Ā Nothing happened.
I called today, again, to get this taken care of and got disconnected.Ā I called back and could not understand a word the agent was speaking.Ā I called back and the woman told me to send pdf's of the charges.
This give me NO desire to shop at that store. BE WARE - if the computers freeze and you are paying by credit card...check your charge account for...
