I’m reviewing all central Arkansas locations to play magic as I frequent them enough to give an accurate review.
My standard is low or this might be a 4, but comparatively I’m sticking a 5. Only con I can say is some of the players are joking calling themselves casual players when they’re visibly upset about any action that affects them. Besides that I’ve met more good pods here than bad. As far as merch goes, great single selection, I’m deducting .1 for lack of display case. Thats totally biased but the dopamine of shiny cardboard should be readily viewable, results in more impulse buys, but they’ve got a whole back room with stock besides their other inventory so the .1 rounds back up.
The employees actually play magic, which is probably the biggest part of the 5 star review. the vibe way better from that alone and when the manager uses the minimal free time he has to peek in on your game its a self esteem boost on top of knowing he’s genuinely interested. Other stores employees have had surface level knowledge; being able to ask an employee about a particular rule/instance is vital and (Caleb hope I got that right) has played enough he doesn’t have to double check his answers. I’ve had enough conversations with other staff to know that they’re all players/knowledgeable. In addition it’s one of the few stores with people who at least pretend they’re happy to help and hustle, while it seems genuine Id take fake customer service over the flat out lack I’ve found with other locations.
My recommendation, we’ll go ahead and call it a complaint because even though it’s common I think every store that closes at 9 should shell out the extra hour worth of employees budget for 10pm commander nights. Games are already long, if you have a new player then that might double the normal time it takes to complete a 4 player match. I’d even argue midnight weekends are worth it; I might be wrong but I feel like I wouldn’t be alone in that room after 10. Besides this is the best location I’ve visited, it would be second to another LGS in another city but one issue they have is too glaring to...
Read moreAhh, the dreams of days past ... I went in looking for games for my grandson (6). This being my first time in, I realized quickly that this was a modern store and what was I thinking. Sheesh! But the talk and murmur of a game in progress drew me in with a slow unheard chant. I smartly perused the shelves without understanding. Noting lots of computerized whatsits inside clamshells amid other brightly lit and sorted arcana, I continued on looking now for the laughter that erupted thru an open doorway to the left, the chant blending with the laughter into quick flashes that flew into the corners as I gazed into a new realm.
That was...
Read moreGreat selection of games, from cards against humanity to D&D collectibles. If you’re in need of a family game or even just a game for a hangout. I’d much rather go here than Target or Walmart. The selection is unmatched in Conway.
Most of the staff has played the games they sell so can recommend games which was nice. It’s a little pricey for the larger games. But if you’re into Roleplaying games I’d recommend checking it out.
They also offer Pokémon Cards, Magic Cards, Dice, and other...
