Hannaford — Local services in Conway

I was always happy shopping at Hannafords sometimes stoping by a couple times per week. This because of its location, it was in an easy location which I had gotten comfortable shopping at. For well over 25 years. This was until they started watching me for security reasons. Theft to this day has me baffled and wondering why? It not just a one time thing it's been Everytime lately. First time an Associate was standing right next to the self check out to watch me and make sure everything was getting scanned I wasn't alone. Was with my daughter. Even my 12 year old daughter was wondering and felt uncomfortable. The associate was really close to us only a couple feet away. Watching . After feeling uncomfortable I asking why they were watching us, they said nothing. Just staring at us. It was obvious. The associate did walk away after I paid. I let corporate know that the associate made me and my daughter extremely uncomfortable and wondering why. On the next "three visits" Ive been forced to stop scanning items by the system. It has me waiting for associate before I can continue. The last time this happened, I asked the associate if I did or if I've been doing something wrong? Because it's been happing a lot. They told me if the system thinks there's a security issue or threat it stops and calls the associates to check. I had to stop wait for an associate. When they came over I watched a video of me scanning the items and where I put them. I asked again how can I get it not to do this am I scanning to fast? Then she said it's all good your ok, this is when she told me it stops the system if it thinks there's possiblity of theft. I'm not a thief, never have been, never will be!! I've never even forgotten to scan any items. Why am I continuously targeted? Again 4 times in a row this has been happening, it isn't fair and its unjust. I've written to corporate 3 times and no answer, no explanation. It's been really embarrassing having others watch me go through this It's feeling like I'm being unjustly discriminated against and...

What a very unprofessional cashier "Amanda" (wearing glasses) at the local Hannaford in North Conway behaving with less than professional behavior. I was being ridiculed by this cashier for wearing my pajamas into the store to retrieve a prescription from the pharmacy after just having had a mastectomy procedure the day before. I was treated overnight for severe complications. I found her body language to not only be rude but unprofessional as well. It was more than obvious when she walked over to another associates ear and was talking with hands covered over her mouth as if the only person who could hear her was the other employee. Wrong. I hear her tell the other employee to look at me. I had just come from a major surgery and this is why I wore my pajamas into the store. I was advised to dress comfortably by the Breast Surgeon. I found this individual who made it obvious that all attention should be on ky attire to be a resentful human being for God knows why she needed to mock me for my clothing other than she must have been bored. The other associate made it just as obvious by the eye language taking place. If I was the store manager of the Hannaford in North Conway, I would ensure that the respect and non judgmental conduct of peoples personal opinions did not impact the level of common core standards for self respect or respect for the customer. Why else would two grown woman enjoy insulting a customer based on appearances is beyond abhorrent. I feel compelled to write a letter to upper management about this childish behavior from these two employee's. Just vile. Heartbreaking and sad. I did not ask to be diagnosed with breast cancer and nobody should be standing at the front end of the store with contentious disregard for upholding basic principles of treat other's how you want to be treated. Or better yet, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. Bottom line. Its not a daycare. Its a grocery store....

This is a specific review of the new Hannaford "to go" delivery service. I live in a senior community and although I still drive I do not like shopping. With Hannaford delivers I was skeptical. I like choosing my own food. I wrote specific directions on the order and everything was fulfilled to my greatest expectations. You can sit in your bed and order right from the flyer on your phone and have everything delivered right to your... What a concept. Whoever shopped for me did an amazing job! And I'm quite particular. Everything was chosen and packed perfectly into heavy brown handle bags. I called the manager to say that..... Thank you Hannaford's.

10/4/24 Here is an updated review of the Hannaford to go delivery service. I'm only giving two stars. The first couple of months of orders were great but since then I've had to call and complain about rotted food old produce ,you name it... To go manager stated he would not argue with me on the phone and called me a liar because I was complaining about expired salad. So I went in face-to-face. Pretty much told him that the delivery service had gone downhill drastically. We exchanged some interesting banter. He stated that he didn't believe the delivery service would be good for me. So because of his mistakes I shouldn't use it. This is so unacceptable. So I'm not going to use it anymore. Their loss. Delivery from anywhere else is on the horizon. There are plenty of other stores...
