I sent a deposit of 150 for weave to be colored for a sew in. Shay and I both agreed to.a price and a time of arrival. I texted early morning to notify her that I would like to push my appointment an hour up to 10 am she said it was fine. When I arrived I saw her running across the street with some platinum blonde hair with burning roots. From afar it looked atrocious but I thought that can be for me bc that's no where near the color I requested. So I waited for her to return and she explained that the color came out bad. If you are an experienced stylist you would purchase raw virgin hair bleach it and lift it and add highlights, which is a process. She came back and said she had to return the hair and would use some hair she had (unprepared) she had a young lady that mother had stated she was there since 830am for a blow out and by this time it's 11am and she's sitting there with a fro. Another customer was just completed from what looked like a roller set an older lady. So I'm thinking even if I arrived an hour earlier she still wouldn't have everything she needed to do my hair. By this time I'm thinking I dont want a rush job so let me just get a refund bc ahead is unprepared to do my hair. I requested a refund and Shay became nasty and showed me pictures of hair she had done the day before. The color is the photo was a brassy copper red with no highlights without dimension or tone. Shay knew it was a double process to do a color service and she was adamant that she has done it before. When I disagreed her tone got worse and said she could only give me back 100 of the 150 I had cash apped her. I said but shay you still didnt have the hair ir color ready and she said bc I moved my appointment up and was late she had to charge me a fee. She basically robbed me for 50 with her gospel music playing. Buyer beware of these hypocrites under the disguise of the gospel. If she had integrity she would have said let me refund you the full amount I'm sorry about the hair color and the delay. Recently I booked an appointment with HOC on Thursday July 30,2020 for an scheduled appointment on Saturday August 1,2020 @ 10:30 am. I arrived to my appointment and the hair stylist named Toya was suppose to do my hair. When I came in she did greet me how she was suppose to. She asked me how could she help and I told her I had an appointment for 10:30 with Toya. She looked at me confused. Then she proceeded to say âwhat were you looking to getâ? I responded back by saying Curls, and I told her I spoke with the Owner (Shay) about the curls. She questioned me out of curiosity when I spoke to shay as if I was lying or something because Shay is out of town. The whole time while Iâm talking to her she has someone in her chair finishing up a retwist of dreads. I waited 10 minutes for that and then she took another woman who had a retwist of dreads. Very rude and felt completely disrespected. Thatâs no way you handle customer service. The least she couldâve done was explain to me what the hold up was. I waited 20 minutes before I decided to leave. Toyaâs demeanor is very aggressive. Poor customer service. my appointment was for 130p i arrived at 1:20p she still had a client in the chair.
At 2:20p she took me to the back/wash my locs (Client still in chair) place me under the dryerđđž told me by the time im dry she'll be done..THAT WAS A LIE!
Once i finished under the dryer she still was with her client..i waited another 30mins.. she HAS NO SENSE OF URGENCY.. UNPROFESSIONAL..
At this point my patients is very short.. So she asked another stylist to start my retwist..10mins later another young lady took over..And yes SHE'S STILL WITH HER CLIENT!! Now its after 4pm FINALLY shay gets to me..at this point my hair is extremely DRY the work done by the 2 young ladies who try to assist her was horrible & un experience on how to properly retwist locs.. ALL AROUND BAD EXPERIENCE!!
I had to postpone my Birthday dinner, make up & photographer appt due to the lengthy period Of time I spent in that shop.. WHICH COST ME MORE MONEY And my locs are so heavy and sticky from loc jel..THE WORST 65.00 DOLLARS SPENT... FYI- I had to give 1 star to leave the review otherwise 0.
