Save A Lot — Local services in Cookeville

we have been save-a-lot customers for more than 30 years. we go into our local store and know each person by their first name and greet them when we go in there. that all changed tonight. we went in to do our normal shopping and did not get anything that we normally do not get. family of 4 and we almost always get 5 meats. we tried to purchase 4 chicken items, 2X thighs, 2X tenders. we were told we were only allowed to get 2 chickens. i ask if i could purchase 2 chickens and my wife purchase 2 chickens on a separate order.. Teresa told us NO. so i said, i would purchase 2, take them to my truck and come back get the other 2.. Teresa again said NO. some people do their shopping weekly, some bi-weekly and some even monthly. 2 meats is not enough for them or anyone. i ended up not taking any chicken and going somewhere else to purchase my meat. i can tell you, this will not happen again. if i can't purchase everything at one store, i'll go to another store. we will start shopping for a new store next weekend, one where we can purchase everything we need. UPDATE, no one from Save A Lot ever got back with me even though i left my email address for them. i still have not gone back to them...

My daughter in law bought me a pack of polish from here today 10/17 and when I opened them they were very slimy so I rinsed the slime off thinking it was just from the casing and they seemed to smell ok but they didn't taste too good. I looked at the expiration date and they expired on 10/11! I never shop here but my son and daughter in law love shopping here for some reason. Hopefully I don't get sick. I really wanted to like Save A Lot, especially because their meat prices are hard to beat. I bought a family pack of sirloin steaks and a pack of ribeyes—looked like a great deal at first. But the moment I opened them at home, I knew something was off. That sour, cheap smell hit me right away, and sure enough, the flavor was just as bad.
