I went in to order a cake at the bakery counter. An older lady, like 50 or 60s with dark short hair was busy. She made eye contact with me a few times but didnt acknowledge I was there or say hey ill be with you in a moment. Complete silence but I'm patient so I continued to wait. Five minutes later she asked if i wanted something.( No i just come to always stand and stare into the bakery for 5 minutes). I wanted a cake for my childs birthday. I explained what I wanted and she rudely argued with me on it so i finally said whatever. Then she asked what size. She told me the half sheet feeds 48, so I went with a quarter sheet as I didnt have that many guests. She was very cut and dry with the questions and extremely rude. I have worked in retail for 7 years and have manager experience so I know the trade and how you are to treat customers. She had no manors what so ever. I understand and get it you can get busy, frustrated, behind in your work, or simply having a bad day. I have been there myself, but that is no excuse to not be polite and happy to see someone ordering a cake for their special event. Just because you hate your job doesnt mean you take it out on your customers or in some cases your employees. When I picked up the cake it was a younger girl who was really nice and polite which shows she cares about her job. Needless to say the cake turned out fine which I was suprised given past experiences at cub. But we could have easily done a bigger cake because a quarter cake barely feeds 10, unless you cut into one inch squares. I had thought ordering from a different cub bakery would be better. Even though our cake turned out ok, I am again dissapointed in cub foods bakery and staff and will likely take my business elsewhere...

The deli staff fail to change their gloves before serving a customer after cleaning equipment or other activities that contaminate or soil their gloves - I have had to request numerous times for the staff to put on clean gloves and my request is usually responded to with a huff yet they will comply. The produce department is inconsistent in quality - the garlic is ALWAYS moldy and the citrus fruit usually has molded, soft pieces in display. This store unnecessarily inflates 'regular' pricing to make it look like they are offering a great deal - I am a savvy shopper and compare prices routinely - things like ice cream and orange juice are particularly targeted for this practice that is an insult to customers. The quality of bakery products has declined considerably over this past year - especially for cookies. This store is generally clean and staff are generally cheerful and helpful. Cub seems to be slowly discontinuing some main-line items in favor of inferior brands (ice cream, yogurt, are recent examples). We have started to drive a further distance and even pay higher prices to access a more pleasant shopping experience with superior quality products...

All the other cub foods Iāve been too only 1 sticker for me to scan and Iām all set to go. As I was walking out in a rush the lady at self check out said have a good day then stopped me and said I missed a price tag, like I purposely did it and I didnāt even know. Then as I was explaining myself, she replied back to me making it seem like I knew and that I was trying to steal. I even apologized for not knowing and still she said THEY ARENāT like other cub foods. I thought this cub foods was so good compared to other places Iāve been too but I guess not, only made me felt discriminated because I didnāt know that this cub foods was PRIVATELY OWNED. The old lady employee shouldāve handled the situation better. I am not gonna put her name on here but I hope this cub foods will teach their employee to have a better choice of words and treat their customers better.
