I went to the Coral Square Mall to shop at Victoria's Secret and was surprised to find that it had been replaced by Arcade Time Entertainment in February. Owned by Jonathan Demare, Arcade Time Entertainment has been open for three years and operates a small chain of arcades in Jacksonville, Wellington, and The Falls Miami. They hope to expand to 39 locations by 2027.
My generation grew up in arcades. As home entertainment systems evolved more people stayed home to play games but nostalgia has brought the arcade back reinventing it for a new generation. Some of the other Arcade Time Entertainment locations have a restaurant but this one is just games.
This arcade is brighter and cleaner than the ones I remember from my youth. Games here include arcade games, virtual reality and motion simulation. In a back room is the retro games I grew up on like Pac Man and Donkey Kong. Cards start at $20 for 400 credits and go up to $250 for $7,000 credits and special game pricing. Arcade Time welcomes birthday parties and camp groups. It is nice to see an all ages entertainment option has been added to the mall. Oh and if you are still looking for Victoria's Secret it has been relocated further down in the same hallway as...
Read moreI would give 3.5 but I can't. It got a three because this seems like a great place for kids but it is more tailored for adults. It is for entertainment for adults with the lights and the types of games they have. Kids want to win prizes and this place is to difficult for them. The claw machines are loose. My daughter literally picked it up perfect and it was held perfect but once it went back up, it shook back and forth and knocked out the prize. FYI fellow Americans - they can tighten and loosen the claws as they see fit. Also thr ticket games to focus on ticket collection is also difficult to get a great number of tickets per game. For instance, I spent 100$ here and won 500 points, spent the same at Dave and Busters and won almost 4k points/tokens so I can get prizes for my kids. We walked out with weak prizes. The amount of tokens/points you need to win good ones is insane. Management needs to rework some things here before I come back and...

There are also some classic-style arcade cabinets. They’re new manufactured machines with LED screens instead of old school CRTs but they’re still really fun.
You buy a reloadable card to use for paying for plays on of the machines. Prices are pretty good and they have lots of increments.
As an added bonus, the old school...
