My wife and I went in to have her main solitaire of her engagement ring reset and to ad a band with princess cut diamonds. We spent a good amount of time going through what we wanted. We then PAYED for the new band and for the repair. A week later we received a letter saying that they had miss charged us. They informed us that it would now be DOUBLE the price for the new band. We, then, returned to the store to find out what was happening. When we got there, they did not have my wife’s ring fixed nor did they have any alternative plans to help solve the issue in which they created. All they offered was to return our money, which is upsetting now that we’ve spent two days going to there business and have yet to be helped in any way. The receipt detailed exactly what we had asked for and for the original price quoted. My family had done business there for decades and we were treated as if we didn’t matter. Not to mention, during this stressful conversation, one of the owners brought up and tried to talk to me about my eldest sister who has MS. I found this to be completely inappropriate for the situation, especially since this was brought up as we were trying to have a conversation about their blatant error. After going over my needs with the sales person, I asked… “Can you darken in inscription and make it black again?” The sales person said yes but it will be $20 dollars extra… which I thought was high at the time but agreed. Upon picking up my bracelet I noticed that the inscription was not black, but a medium grey. I mentioned that I thought it would be darker… black like it originally was?? Never during the sales discussion before the work was done did the she mention that it was a chemical process and it will not be black..! The technician came out from her work area to tell me that that is the way it is supposed to be and if I want it black (like I thought I was getting) that It would cost more … period I did not ask what that was cost was going to be… I was feeling very disappointed with this place of business… I paid my bill and choose to leave… I hope I never have the displeasure of dealing with such AN over advertised chinzee shop as those people… live...
Read moreDo I have my engagement ring? yes. Is it beautiful? Yes. Was it an easy enjoyable process? No. Did I feel like the sales people listened to what I wanted? No. Did I feel like communication during the process was adequate? No.
My fiancé and I designed the ring ourselves and had a very specific vision in mind. Throughout the process the lady we worked with told us several times that what we wanted wasn’t “in line with their style” and seemed somewhat disinterested in designing the ring we wanted. In the end I got the ring 85% perfect then gave up trying to work with the jeweler. Even after we took the ring back to get him to do some work he had agreed to, it’s still not perfect.
We also set a “goal budget” and a “we’d pay this for the perfect ring budget” which the sales lady was supposed to let us know if we were approaching. The final bill came and it was $200 over our highest budget and she never let us know which is...
