Please beware when purchasing product (other than fresh meat) at Von Hanson's. About a year ago I bought some cocktail sauce there. Never thought to check the expiration date. Ate some and found out it was terribly rancid. It was two years past the expiration date!! I had my receipt and they still did not want to refund my money. They wanted me to exchange it. So I looked at the other 5 jars on shelf, all expired. Finally they agree to give me my money back. Went in two weeks later (because I do like their fresh meat) and the 5 jars were still left on the shelf. I should have know better but two days ago I bought some of their brand name spaghetti sauce. Got home saw that it was past the expiration date. Unfortunately I did not have my receipt. Again they offered my to exchange it. I went over and looked at about 10-12 containers. All past the expiration date. This time I was told there was nothing they could do. I'll bet if anyone goes in there and looks in the days to come they will all still be there. I on the other hand will not be shopping there anymore. For a lousy $3.29 they lost a valued customer that shopped there on average 3-4 times a month,...

After recently moving to the area, my wife and I decided to check out this place out. Walking in the door, we were pleasantly surprised by large variety of options available. From cuts of meat, beef sticks, brats, different types of pre-made frozen dishes dishes, dog treats, and much more, there was a lot to choose from. The prices are a higher than what you would find at the counter larger chain grocery stores, but nothing more than to be expected from a specialty store. The staff was also very patient and courteous as we browsed the selections.
My wife and I purchased several items: 2x Tomato Basil Chicken Breasts, 2x Garlic Butter Chicken Breasts, and Beef sticks. The size of the chicken breasts are large and thick, so extra cooking time may be required. We cooked garlic chicken breasts in the oven and the Tomato Basil ones on the Grill. We thoroughly enjoyed the flavor both times and definitely will be returning to try more options...
Read moreHUNTERS BEWARE: We brought three deer in to have them processed ($125/deer) and made into sausage ($4-6/lbs ontop of the processing fee). After they finished, they screwed up our order and gave us chops when we wanted backstraps filet/steak. Then, out of the three deer, they gave us 27 lbs of completed sausage. They claimed that the deer's hindquarters were unusable and thus they only got 10 lbs of trims to use for sausage. We are never going to bring deer back here if they throw away over half of the deer...
