Five Below — Local services in Cranberry Township

UPDATE to previous review. 12/20/2024 Once again visited this location in Cranberry. Had my basket filled and the same woman stood by side while I was scanning my items. The uncomfortable feeling was so overwhelming. I guess she could read my body language as she decided to go Help the people next to me scan each one of their items and pit in the bag. The customer and I glanced at each other- I rolled my eyes and she did the same until she said to the employee- we can scan our own items which she replied- I am checking to make sure prices are correct. Well if they are not correct that is the stores problem not the customer. I love the items at this store but having this uncomfortable shopping experience again is making me not want to shop. Next time I will walk in & see if this woman is working and if so will leave. Not sure what the reasoning is behind this. It is SELF checkout.

I was at this location today. I have been there on other occasions. Not sure why but each time I go to the Self checkout- that is the only available way to pay for your items- a woman started to take things out of my hand and said she would do it. She scanned each of my items- maybe about 8. While scanning mine a woman came to the self checkout register by me and this woman told her she would be right with her and Not to start scanning. This is very annoying to me. Why can’t we as customers scan our own items. Is Five Below concerned about theft? She would not even let me take my credit card receipt. She took it off the machine and put in my bag without even asking if that is what I wanted. Not sure when she works but if I visit this location again and I see she is working I will leave and come back another time. This is just insane. Management needs to address this. Also when I walked in she was standing in that little area to the left and was putting food in her mouth. I asked her if they had an item I was looking for and with food in her mouth- pointed to...

Came in today to get a couple candy bars and a drink and check out was pretty full with people. There were 3 associates. one watching, one checking people out and one telling you where to go. Like I said I had 3 very small items and there were 2 people behind me checking out with full carts. The associate came over, tried to take my items out of my hands to scan them. I said no thank you because…it’s self check out? She told me it wasn’t, it’s an associate check out and that associates have to check people out. Then maybe get regular registers?? Like wtf? By the time we were done going back and forth, I was done my transaction. Why the heck weren’t they helping the people with full carts? Why was I singled out? You think I’m gonna steal a candy bar or other item. Heck no. I WANT the receipt in case I gotta bring something back because 89% of the time, it’ll break or not work. They don’t treat you like this at the Monaca location. Either have a self check out, or regular registers. Oh, and maybe tell your associates NOT to grab things out of...

I visited the Cranberry Twp store and I felt I should share my experience. Upon entering the store I was pleasantly greeted by London. London showed a genuine desire to ensure I had a pleasant experience.

I was then promptly greeted again by Lori (Asst. Manager). Lori portrayed professionalism, enthusiasm and made me feel welcome to shop. Lori asked me with a big smile if there was anything that she could help me find, she walked me to the exact product that I was looking for in addition to walking me to what I was looking for she also showed me different items that will compliment the item that I purchased, I ended up purchasing all three items.

Finally as she had London check me out I observed Lori with a family of customers and was impressed with her welcoming demeanor as she interacted with the three children so their parents could shop. It was very clear to me that she takes a lot of pride in what she does.
