Really tasty Indian food in Cranberry. I didn't order much today, but everything I had was more than satisfactory. Today's order consisted of channa bhatura (chickpea curry with large puffy bread) and kheer.

The actual chickpea curry itself was very good. I'm sure the full channa masala meal is also amazing because of that. The sauce has just the right amount of spice for me, which is great because I couldn't find a way to add spice levels online. There were large chunks of chickpeas in the curry and it was not too oily. Its toppings were interesting: cilantro and raw onions. Not a huge fan of the onions. The portion of the curry is a bit small, too.

The bhatura bread, on the other hand, was very large. And as the description said, it was pretty puffy! Some parts of the bread were on the oily side, while others were more crispy. I think it was overall near perfect. It's especially delicious if you warm it up; then, the flavorful oil as well as salt is more apparent which I enjoy. It also gets a bit more crunchy when warmed.

I loved the kheer. Normally, my go to Indian dessert is gulab jamun. But, I heard Tamarind's gulab jamuns are very small and not worth the price. The kheer portion was fair for the price (not small, not large). It was super creamy and sweet! I loved the addition of whole nuts, like cashews, and raisins as well as some other almost juicy fruit.

Overall, I definitely have Tamarind on my Cranberry radar. The food isn't overly expensive and it's high quality. Although I didn't try much, I can still say this is a solid restaurant and one that...

It is my birthday weekend, so we drove from Perryopolis, PA to Tamarind in Cranberry township to meet a friend for my birthday dinner. None of us had been to Tamarind previously.

It started off fine.

This was dinner, but the waiter was treating it like lunch, trying to rush us out. While we chatted, we kept looking to make sure tables were available.

We bought appetizers, entrees, dessert, drinks (with meal drinks & after meal drinks)...but before we finished out drinks & desserts, the waiter had put down the bill, then picked up the signed receipt while we were still talking without saying a word to us.

I gave a 20% tip, so he should have at least been courteous, but as soon as he put the bill down & I left my credit card (again, before we finished dessert), he could at least have said "thank you". Once he got his money seeing it was already on the credit card, we were treated like we no longer existed. Did not even bother refilling our water, while he went around refilling everyone else's.

There were several waiters. The one that took our order was nice & helpful. Seems the men worked as a team. The manager (I am guessing) asked everyone how everything was (while we were eating appetizers) & it was good.

We saw everything change when one waiter seemed to take over. I am guessing the tip with go to him though he was not the one who earned it.

Still, it was nice seeing a friend I had not seen in a while & it is my birthday weekend, so I am...

Was running errands in Cranberry on Sunday morning and then met up a friend here to enjoy their Sunday lunch buffet. Got there when they opened at 11.30am and they were already half full, which is always a good sign.

We were greeted immediately and we sat down and they provided water and a plain dosa on the table straightaway. We tried various items from the buffet and they all tasted authentic to me. The variety, quality and taste of the food is very good. They have a South Indian twist on the food, which is different to other Indian restaurants in the area that have a more North Indian flavor.

My favorite here was the chicken biranyi, but everything was great. I will be back more often as it is rare to get a high quality Indian buffet on Sunday in this location for this price with great service.

Had 2 glasses of the included mango drink and then had some eggless cake for dessert. The servers clear plates quickly, topped up my drink and kept the buffet fully stocked.

The staff here smile and enjoy what they do and take care of their guests. I would recommend this place if you are in Cranberry for authentic spiced Northern and Southern style dishes.

I will be back for dinner to try dosa very soon. Try this place, you will not be...

I am giving 5 stars to not affect the business and instead share my experience since I believe the restaurant has the infrastructure and required experience to make this a better experience in the future. 1. I ordered chicken biryani. Of the three dishes, this is the only one I would probably order again. 2. The rice is clumpy and overcooked. Of course, I was expecting basmati rice since it is common for Indian restaurants to serve basmati rice with entrees. Even if it is not basmati, I would at least expect good quality rice that is more appetizing. 3. I ordered pepper chicken fry. What I received was breaded fried chicken coated with a thick pepper and onion paste, that is falling off the chicken. I could barely eat two pieces of this dish. 4. I also ordered chicken vepudu. Vepudu by definition, at least in the Telugu speaking states is not gravy-based curry unless I am misinformed. On the bright side, this did come across as a freshly prepared dish.
