This hotel experience was TERRIBLE! I contacted the hotel the day before my reservation to see if it was possible to have an early check in, because I was staying at this hotel for a wedding in the area. The wedding was a hour after check in and the hotel was 45 minutes from the venue. I went to check in, when I got to the front desk they said how can I help you? I told her I was checking in and she immediately without looking said that my room was not ready. I then told her that I contacted the hotel and asked for early check in. She rudely stated that there was no notification that it was an early check in and said there was nothing that she could to because the hotel was booked. I then told her that I was not even spending the night in the hotel, I just needed the room to get ready for the wedding and that I was leaving from there. She did not even bother coming up with an alternative solution until I asked her if there were any other rooms available that were not the same type as my reservation, because I just needed to shower and leave. After 10 minutes we got a smaller hotel room. I got ready for the wedding and left 2 hours later. I went to go check out without saying anything their first response was that I couldn't get my money back. I was shocked because they caused such a headache in the first place, they didn't even lower the rate since they put me in a smaller room. They did nothing to try to amend the situation. I was in their hotel for 2 hours tops and I was charged and had awful customer service.
I would not recommend this hotel...
Read moreI was there for a long stay, and this was my experience.. The Lobby was a decent area to hang out and watch TV. The check-in went smootly and quickly thankfully to Kenny because it was very late. The room was musty from the air conditioner. It was clean, and well kept other than that. It was a comfortable bed, with comfortable pillows. The price was very reasonable, and actually drops a little bit after 30 days. There's a pool and gym area that I didn't use that was in decent shape, and there was free laundry. The hotel store was almost never stocked, and if it was I would have to say how much each item was and even had to add it up for Tracy most times. That brings me to the staff.. I would say if you ever have an issue to talk to Kenny. He fixed a few of my issues such as over charging, and reduced rate. The manager didn't seem very helpful when it came to that stuff. So I thought Kenny should be running things, as did a few guests I talked with.
The manager actually seemed unprofessional as he talked to me and other guest about his employees in a rude way. He would also call, and whistle for my dog from across the hotel when I was trying to go outside. He continued to do so even after I asked him not to. Tracy meant well, but constantly talked to me and other guests about the people in her life that have died. It made you feel bad, but also very uncomfortable! I ended up avoiding most of the staff for my stay. I would recommend this place to stay, but it needs to hire a few more people that are familiar with hotels...
Read moreI came to Cranberry on business with Westinghouse, easily the largest employer there if not the whole state. Be sure to ask for the Westinghouse rate if you're on business with them, It's a great rate. I was there for two weeks. The hotel was very nice and clean, the housekeeping was excellent. I had few needs while I was there so I had little interaction with the front desk. The St. Paddy's Day reception was great, they should do receptions more often than once a month. The biggest gripe I had was the lack of breakfast. There was none, nada, zero, zilch, not even a continental. The Cupboard had a few breakfast items but like most hotels there is a mark up. I mean $2 for two Advils? C'mon. My other gripe was the grill. I used it a lot while I was there. Thursday before I was to leave I bought a bunch of stuff to grill but when I went down to warm it up, it was gone! The front desk had no clue as to why. When I got off work on Friday there was a sign saying it was gone due to "annual cleaning". I don't know about you but I can clean my grill in 15 minutes. But then if they only clean it once a year maybe it does take two days. I never had any complaint about it not being clean.
It's a good location, many eateries within walking distance. I recommend Saga, a Japanese Hibachi and sushi bar in the strip mall next door. There is also Mexican, Pizza, a sandwich joint and a burger bar.
If you read my gripes and said "meh, who cares" then by all means stay there it's a very nice property and they has a very nice indoor pool...
