Green Tea Nails — Local services in Cranford

On sept 11 I went in this establishment for a gel mani, regular pedicure and eyebrows. Now this review is based on 2 things 1. The services rendered and 2 their customer service. My pedicure was Subpar at best. The woman that did it barely cut my nails or massage my feet. The manicure was awful, she was the older Asian lady. She was so rough with my hands, didn't look where she was filing, kept filing my skin, my nails weren't buffed or shaped properly. Even after I expressed concern that I didn't like the way she filed them, she brushed me off and kept painting my nails and started speaking to her coworker in her language.

When I go to pay the receptionist goes it's 62 dollars plus tip. I was paying with cash so I told her ok I have cash. I hand her 65 dollars she gives me the change and says to me "and tip!" kind of forcefully. So I then again say to her, I have cash. I then had my cash In hand to give ( I was planning on giving 4 each cause the service just wasn't what I was accustomed to) later when I'm all done with everything. So I then go in for eyebrows when I was done I sat on this little bench waiting for my friend who was getting her eyebrows done by the same older Asian lady. The receptionist comes towards me where I was sitting and asked " did you give a tip to the pedicure lady?" I replied, " not yet I'm waiting for my friend we are not done" she looks at me all crazy while the older Asian lady peeps her head out to yell at me "it's 20 percent tip here!!"

Now this is when I get turned all the way off. She comes out the room and starts to yell saying you need to give a tip! It's 20% you did your feet, hands and eyebrows!!. now it took everything in me and the Good Lord to not go off. But instead I say to her, " I paid for my services, a tip is when a customer is satisfied with a service and want to express their gratitude. You're very unprofessional, you don't come to me and harass me for tips, you don't ask for tips". I will NEVER go to this place again. You don't yell at your customers, harass them especially in front of other patrons. You would have thought I was this degenerate running out of paying the bill! I instead just put my little dollars in my bag and left in...

I had a HORRIBLE experience at this salon and would never recommend it to anyone. I walked in and asked for a gel french manicure. I asked if they could do gel extensions and they got into a 10 minute conversation with me about why I should choose acrylic tips even thought I didn't want them. Finally I just decided to pick a regular gel color instead. While I was searching for a color, the nail stylist wouldn't leave my side- she kept pushing colors in my face and asked "Can you do this one? What about this one?" She was trying to rush me to pick a color and wouldn't let me take my time. Finally, I picked a dark purple color. When it came time to do my nails, the technician cut my cuticles to the point that they bled. When I told her it hurt, she started laughing and saying things in her language to the other nail technician. When I asked her what she was saying, she said "Oh, I just said how beautiful the color was". She was obviously making fun of me. On top of everything, the dark purple color I picked turned out to be a pink color! I insisted this color did not match the display nail and the technician said "It's still beautiful!" By the end of the rushed manicure, I asked to speak to the owner. I told the owner everything that happened. The owners response was "Oh, they were probably laughing because they had trouble communicating." I insisted that I felt very uncomfortable and thought it was a rude experience. The owner rushed me out of the salon saying "Ok, then pay and leave!". I could not believe how poor the customer service was at Green Tea Nails. I urge you to keep driving past this...

Run as far and fast as you can this place should be shut down. I didn’t know you could mess up a 6 minute (yes that’s how long she made my pedicure last along with burning my skin off on both of my big toes) pedicure. All of the chairs were broken so no massage part and when asked if it was working she just started hitting it and then reclined the chair and says we’ll that works. Then took her 44 minutes to realize I said gel pedicure which is also what my appointment was for. I asked if I could pick my color, she said yes and then proceeded to try to put black on my feet. The other lady stepped in because she realized her employee was incompetent and when I showed her they not only burned off my skin but clearly turned my toes purple she said it happens all the time and grabbed Neosporin out of the draw? Not only are my toe nails un even from one foot to the other but you clearly hurt people very often you have tubes of Neosporin readily accessible.
